Been here a few times for lunch..been nice food every time good for familys nice atmosphere will return again :+)

Stayed here one night in a good quality room with a good breakfast included,Staff could not have been more helpful.Free car parking a bonus and situated about 1.5 miles from Chesterfield with a good taxi service available.

I visited the Olde House for some lunch on Sunday and I must say that the visit was a total disaster and the management in the restaurant were absolutely awful. I regularly eat out and I can honestly say that the customer service I recieved in your establishment was the worst I have ever witnessed.

All 4 people in the group ordered the 'Prime beef' ranch burger. Once the food arrived we were all of the same opinion that the food was sub-standard to say the least. To begin with, the 'prime beef' burger was actually a processed cheap burger full with grizzle and other disgusting ingredients - I think to describe the burger as 'prime' on your menu it totally out of order and highly misleading to the customer. Secondly the chips that came with the meal were also under-cooked and hard in the middle.

We were never asked if the food was OK at any point. When the waitress collected our plates (the food was hardly touched) we voiced our concerns over the quality of the food we were served. The manager (Julie Gerard) was then called and her attitude towards our group was unacceptable. It seemed that Julie Wood had no interest in what we were saying and was extremely rude and abrasive with us. I asked if she would be willing to offer any form of compensation had her answer was simply no. She then insulted the whole group in front of other patrons by calling us "typical students". This is not only highly discriminating but also not true. We are all 28 years old and have not been students since 2005 - not that this has any relevance whatsoever.

If you want my advise, stay well clear of this pub/restaurant!

We booked a party for a Christmas meal here following good reviews. The first course arrived promptly, but was very small padded out with a lot of potatoes. The sweet, which was an hour later was average. But, most galling of all was the fact that it took us 1 hour 50 minutes after the main course to get a cup of coffee which is unacceptable. They seemed very short of staff for such a busy period, which in turn made them grumpy abd forgetful ( not their fault, but the managements). Profit before service seemed to apply here.
I would only recommend visiting at quieter times.
