well it was our second visit to the swan hotel our first was three years ago we stayed in room 8 , a beautiful large room with a bathroom almost as big, the food was faantastic and at 140 for the room and a big selection for breakfast it was the reason we decided to return.
And wow what a dissapointment .we were given room 12 ,a large darkly painted room overlooking the car park . it was ok but not ideal, the bathroom was tiny, after walking around the city of bath for six hours we both fancied a long soak in a hot bath,,,,,,,ohhh were we in for a supprise NO HOT WATER,,after numerous times of asking and being told to wait an hour for it to heat up ,a chap came and turned on the water and told us what we already knew ...SORRY NO HOT WATER . USE THE SHOWER. well that would be better than nothing and thats what we got nothing NO HOT WATER, just a tepid shower.after complaining again we were given a discount and a bottle of wine, not the best result but better than nothing. the evening meal was good and a good nights sleep followed.
breakfast was nothing like the first visit, trying to be to upmarket ,the full english was delicately stacked up on a plate 1egg 1 bacon 1 sausage(not farm fresh ,,,walls more like)
1 mushroom (yes 1) and a piece of black something not the best breakfast ever,
So all in all not a good second visit ,my advice to the owners is get back to basics dont be clever, you have a nice place . so if you are thinking of visiting the area look around,we will. sorry swan
Room Tip: room 8 £140 but check hot water before you unpack
