“Very pretty hotel, ok for a couple of nights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012 via mobile

Stayed here with a colleague on business trip.we had read review and asked for a room away from the renovations and they put us in lovely rooms in the coach house.all went well until breakfast, which should have started at 7,and no one turned up til nearly 7.15.wasnt that impressed with the buffet.evening meal was lovely though and the manager was very apologetic about the breakfast.we had no problems on the second day.i suspect because I often stay in cheaper looking hotels i expected more but we paid a very good rate so really can't complain.stunning location , must be lovely for a wedding .would stay there again

Many thanks for your review. I must apologise again for the lateness of breakfast on your first morning - however I am pleased we redeemed ourselves on the second day!! Do hope you will return to Leigh Park again soon to see all the delightful refurbishment work now complete.

“Refurbishment...They Didn't Advise!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Awful stay at this hotel, they are going through a massive refurbishment and decided not to mention this through the booking process or mention it on the website. everywhere stinks of paint, the temporary bar area is big enough for 6 people and the service at the bar took 20 minutes.

Tried to check out early, reception closed until 7am, advised to call the night porter who didn't answer the phone. No apology, no explanation.

Avoid this hotel throughout January/February unless you want to be overcome by paint fumes and treated by staff as if "I should have known the place was being refurbished"

I have sent a complaint to the head of Best Western..will let you know what they say!

Room Tip: anywhere other than this hotel!

Many thanks for your review, I apologise for the disruption you encountered during your visit. We notified Best Western and other agents that work to the reception area was taking place and I can only apologise if you were not made aware of this.

The upside however is that the work is complete and we have a magnificent new reception and bar area that perfectly complements the period charm and elegance of the hotel. I hope you get the chance to return to enjoy the transformation yourself.

“Fantastic Hotel”

I often stay at this hotel and have been meaning to provide a review for a while now. The hotel is set in a wonderful grounds and has significant character and charm.

One of the main things that keeps me coming back is the constant change on the menu in the restaurant, every day there is something different on offer and always of a high quality. The hotel staff are very welcoming and always happy to help. The rooms that I’ve stayed in have always been very clean and modern. A top tip for people staying and can’t get there TV to work, check that its switched on at the wall; the housekeeping are keen to be green and leave on only the essentials in the rooms, personally I think this is a great indication of how the hotel is trying to reduce its wasted energy consumption.

Overall this is a lovely hotel in a lovely setting i would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: All rooms I’ve stayed in are good, however my favourite rooms are in the Coach House

“Lovely olde world Manor”

We recently stayed here in the Coach house . The rooms are modern and comfortable being newly refurbished. The house itself is very nostalgic and takes you back in time. We learnt it is due for some refurbishment which it will benefit from. It has an amasing curved stair case and the breakfast dining area has beautiful light and scenery. Peter the duty Manager was very helpful and friendly as we're all the staff. Take time to check out the vineyard. This hotel is ideally located for Bradford upon Avon which is a must, it's like a Harry Potter town , great restaurants and shops.
Top tip, the coach house rooms are more up to date, the house rooms are more authentic to the period but not quite so comfy.
Try an omelette for breakfast , they are delicious.

“Part of a wedding party”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

we were obliged to stay as we were at one of the weddings that they cater for significantly. The setting is beautiful, circular drive and lovely garden. I had read some of the reviews and was a bit worried so upgraded our room-up two flights and no lift -if I had been on my own I would or should have enquired if there was a disabled room. The room was spacious and clean with a view of the front gardens. Bathroom a bit tired and flaky paint and scuffed rotten bath panel-Pillows very sad-I do think managers should try sleeping in every room of the hotel they manage and these sort of niggles would not arise. The decor on the top floor was tired-grubby hand prints on fire doors and scuffed wallpaper where suitcases were hauled up and down. I've stayed in many Best Western in the US and always enjoyed the diversity and always found them to be of a good standard. Can't say anything about the food as it was wedding food and therefore not chosen by me-always feel it a miracle that the food for everyone was hot and on the table at weddings. Staff very friendly and efficient.
