“not a great welcome”

This Hotel was clean , and tidy if a bit tired and in need of a revamp. The breakfast was good, freshly cooked and the dining room staff were more than helpful. However this cannot be said for the reception staff who's first words to us were "Are you looking for accommodation! Check in is not till half past three you know. " This was not the welcome I expect, since we were only 1 hr early. I am fairly well traveled and was disappointed at the attitude of the reception staff who are the face of the hotel and set the mood for the stay. A room was ready and we were given curt instructions as to how to get to the room. As I said the Hotel was clean and tidy but this experience has put us off returning to this hotel. Their reception staff need a course on courtesy and good manners... These cost nothing.

“Its not London.”

I had reason to book this Hotel at short notice and called in at 11.20pm one evening. I asked for a single room and was told that they didn't have any singles. It didn't seam to be that busy and the carpark only had a few cars. The gentleman ran off to check if it was possible and left me standing for quite sometime.
On his return, I was told it would be a double room. I said that was fine and what was the rate. £85 stg............I nearly dropped. Where do they think they are, Central London. Its only Craigavon after all. I eventually got him talked down to £65stg (still pricey). I paid up and was guided to a room on the ground floor.

Yea, the room was nice enough to look at but stank of stale cigerate smoke even with all its no smoking signs over the room. The bathroom was tired and could have been doing with a refurb. When I used the shower it didn't have a warm setting, just roasting hot.

It was a task getting Breakfast as there was stuff missing from the tables and I had to request Tea even after my order had been taken. It was probably forgotten due to all the shouting and cursing that was coming from the kitchen, and was clear to be heard when the staff member was pushing open the door to deliver the Toast.

All in all its nice to look at but the prices need reviewed and the rooms need a facelift to tidy the bathrooms and get rid of the stale smoke smell.

The choise is yours.

“Much better than the website”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We stopped here recently for two nights as part of a larger group for a wedding in the local area. It wasn't our choice of hotel and looking at pictures on the website, I didn't have overly high expectations. However I was pleasantly surprised. The reception area is attractive looking and is modern in appearance.

Our room was on the ground floor. Whilst it had the look of a Travelodge type room, it was extremely spacious and the bed was HUGE and very comfortable. Shower/bath was hot and good pressure. Contrary to a previous review, Wi-fi was working and there were no problems with it.

We ate in the restaurant one evening. Reasonable prices, good food and very large portions. Breakfast was ok, not outstanding but definitely not poor. It was a buffet style cooked breakfast with limited non-cooked options (just cereal and a wee bit of fruit - no continental options).

Staff were friendly and helpful when we need phone numbers of some local businesses.

Not sure how it compares with other hotels/B & B's in the area, but we found it to be a very reasonably priced option and would recommend to others.

“Accomodation for wedding December 2011”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

My wife, grand daughters and I stayed at the hotel for our daughter's recent wedding.

We found everything first class and excellent value for money.

All of the staff were friendly and most helpful. we particularly would like to thank the reception staff for accomodating our early book in and late book out.In everything that they did they were both friendly and professional. We would also like to thank the barman who kept our grand daughters entertained during our long wait for our transport to the airport.

Our family room (actually, two rooms with access door) was palatial and most comfortable.

Breakfast was splendid both in quality and quantity.

This was a long and emotional trip but no one could have done more to make it relaxing and enjoyable.

Thank you, Michael Jeanes

Room Tip: The family room(s) is exceptional value
