“Great spot, i guess it could be noisy but we were in late!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

Attending a wedding nearby this was a great option for a 1-nighter.

Got a family room, massive room, 5 beds, nice little rasied are and you walked in, very nice little suite. food fantastic, they will bring anything and everything to your room and very cheap, same for breakfast, just ring up in the morning and order whatever you want, shortly some large trays of grub will arrive.

There is a nice friendly local bar below and what looked like a fairly busy and noisey hall / dance room in the back. I imagine this could be very noisey in the evenings, especially as we were there on a saturday night and I think there was a group on. We were back very late from the wedding though and all was quiet just a few drunks young people around.

But it's a town centre pub/hotel so I'm not sure you would really be going there for a quiet night.

Can't fault it, staff great. Would go again, would love to have an excuse to go again but not really the sort of town you would really head to for a weekend away!

Room Tip: ask for one high up away from bar

“A good option if you are in the area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2011

I had seen this hotel on various booking sites. It is in the centre of Dungannon, and from the outside looks like a big pub, but it is not. They market it as a boutique hotel, but although it is modern, it is not really a boutique. The gentleman at check in was helpful, and advised me about the parking. I paid £80 bed and breakfast. Rather expensive I felt but there is not a great deal of competition in the area. There were complimentary newspapers in the lobby which was a nice touch. My room was very big, and bed was a triple bed. There was no wireless internet in the rooms but Reception lent me a cable so I could access the net no problem. The bathroom light is by the main door, not the bathroom, which annoyed me a bit. Dinner was good, the menu not very varied though, and rather expensive I felt (£22.50 for sirloin steak and chips), although like most places in Northern Ireland, they do not scrimp on the portion sizes. The TV was good with plenty of freeview channels. Shower was good, and powerful. I found the room to be a bit bare and sparse in terms of decor but in general it was a good stay. Breakfast was good and the chap serving me was friendly, and we spoke about the football. The service does make a difference. I would recommend it and would stay again. By the way there is a smoking terrace that I noticed on the roof, and in summer it would be very nice to sit out there with a pint.

“Really nice relaxing place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2010

I was recently in Dungannon for a funeral and the after meal was in the bank hotel. It looks really nice inside and the food was great everyone loved it. I ended up having a few drinks in the bar which is nice and relaxing, catching up with old friends and ended up staying the night. The rooms were top class and nice friendly staff.

“Clean, efficient, and worth the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2010

The staff here do a great job. The main thing I noticed about this place was how clean it was. You could eat your dinner off the bathroom floor if you wanted. A lot of hotels could learn cleanliness lessons from this place. The room I stayed in was big (with a door to the smoking area which could be noisy in the summer perhaps). The bed was huge - would sleep three easily! It was comfortable too, and the pillows and bedding were spotless and fresh.

Breakfast: the breakfasts your order from the menu were great - big portions and well cooked. The 'continental' buffet looked a bit sad, but hey, it's not the Continent. The poached eggs were perfect the times I had them.

Dinner: enormous portions of good, solid home cooking. I would rather eat this stuff than some of the mucked about with food you get in more expensive places. The champ was particularly good! The wines on offer were good, and the service was efficient and not obtrusive.

Staff: incredibly friendly, helpful, obliging, hardworking. No fault there.

Minus points: lift a bit 'turbulent' when going up; the plastic flowers on the wall are unnecessary.

All in all, a great place to stay and I would recommend it if you're going to be in Dungannon.
