“What a Dump”

What can I say ? Stayed for one night and had one meal, that was enough, went out for breakfast the next day.The owners were the most unhospitable people I have come across.Stay here if you want to be insulted. If you do decide to give it a go look out for the doorman/security person he looked like he was ready to rip your head off if you dared to even smile. This stay spoilt my wifes birthday suprise which I hoped would be a nice weekend out for her.

Went here for a works fuction over christmas. the owner is very rude and thinks he owns the ritz. i have done some research and have found out that he doesnt actually own it even though he tells people he does, a brewary owns it. he was rude to serveral people in the party, also a dj who was about 12 years old with no manners and very greasy hair was extremly rude to paying costumers. the christmas dinner was discusting , and due to thier behaviour we left straight away. we will no be going back there and i will be telling everyone i know to stay away. also i did hear the bouncer on the door bragging how he gets cash in hand, so that says it all really.

“Very average”

We arrived at the hotel to find there were no spare car parking spaces until the grumpy owner told us we were not guaranteed a space as there were only 10 spaces for 15 rooms whereas all their literature states 16 spaces for 15 rooms(we did eventually get a space). The hotel is nice enough and some of the staff were quite friendly but this in no way makes up for the food.We decided to eat in the restaurant for our evening meal and the starters were okay but the waitress (who was nice & friendly) took our plates and immediately brought our main as if in a rush to get us out.My partners meal was okay but was ordered with chips which were obviously from much earlier in the day as they were like frazzles with plenty of 'crispy bits'.I decided to have 'creamed potatoes'(mash) which was like a lump of concrete and steak which was like rubber. The last straw was that while eating our main the staff started setting up the tables for breakfast while there were still us and another party of 10 eating. The breakfast was much the same - no napkins,no water, sausages cooked earlier and staff clearing everything away while we were still eating making it very obvious they wanted you out.As i stated earlier the hotel is nice but it urgently needs a new chef and some customer relations training for the staff.Carmarthen is lovely and we will definitely return but until we find out this hotel has improved we will not be staying here again.

“Disorganised, unhelpful, would not go back to this dive if you paid me!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2011

Firstly they didn't have my booking, but then they found it... Very dated accommodation, could do with refurbishment or at least a good clean and a lick of paint. It was a Saturday night so the live band were playing, and our room was at the front of the hotel so the smokers and revellers added to the noise, it was gone 1am before we got some sleep. Breakfast was a shambles, with just one waitress covering a full hotel. You had to sit at the table that had your room number on... we were given a table for 2 but there were 2 room numbers on it for 4 guests, however there was no space, seats or cuttlery for the other 2 guests. We were told we could not move to a table to accommodate 4 because the tables had been laid for the correct number of guests per room (clearly not). Eventually the waitress allowed us to move - how kind!! They ran out of orange juice, our coffee's arrived after breakfast, and then to add insult to injury we were told whilst drinking our coffee that if we didn't check out by 10.30am promptly we would be charged for another night - charming!
Would not go back to this dive if you paid me
