“Fab setting and friendly hosts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2009

Had a 3 nght stay while visiting this area. The guesthouse is tucked up a little drive away from the road and is quite simply delightful with very friendly hosts. Our room was nicely decorated and a good size. Breakfast was lovely - I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit salad with it, and there was plentiful freshly brewed coffee. The (gastro)pub next door was not bad at all but I recommend a half mile walk in a great setting along the towpath to Hemingford Abbots where the Axe and Compass serves very tasty and cheaper food in a lovely friendly setting. Both Hemingford villages are real chocolate box places and with easy access from the A14, this is a great place off the beaten track but near enough to civilisation to make a good base for exploring.

“A great find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2009

The Willow Guest House in the pretty village of Hemingford Grey is a great place to stay for a relaxing break. I recently stayed here with two friends who were house hunting in the area. They had a double room and I had a single room and both rooms were a good size and very clean. The guest house is tucked away within its own gardens and has a lovely sun terrace. The breakfast is homemade and plentyful! The owners were very friendly and helpful. Hemingford Grey is a small, pretty village on the river Ouse close to Huntingdon and Cambridge and with a good quality restaurant and a pub and plently opportunity for country walks. I would definitely recommend this guesthouse to all my friends.

“A good find”

Set in the pretty village of Hemingford Grey, this is great find. My double room was well-furnished, decorated and clean. The breakfast was great. There is a small patio for guests to use.

My only complaint was I was unable to use the advertised free WiFi as the hosts weren’t available on the evening of my stay. However, when I was given the passcode in the morning, the reception was strong and connection fast.

As I’m likely to need to visit the area again on business, I will certainly stay here again.

“Overall excellent.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2009

Due to my father having a heart attack whilst on a weekend break, he was taken to Papworth Hospital. So i urgently needed acoomodation, i fell by The Willows through my sat nav. I am so glad i did, the service was excellent, very friendly and homely, the room was clean, spacious and well maintained. The scenery was also a bonus as it is set in a beautiful idylic location. Overall 100% satisfaction, i will definitly visit again.
Many thanks to all who made my visit memorable.

“Fantastic breakfast!”

We have family in Hemingford Grey and needed a place to stay when our house unexpectedly overflowed with guests! So we didn't expect any more of the Willow Guest House than a place to put our heads down for the night. But what a little gem. Friendly and intimate, but never intrusive - no banging about "encouraging" guests to get up (a foul English habit in my view!) and a superlative breakfast which I've never forgotten, even though our stay was a year ago. We would really recommend it to anyone - the only reason I didn't make a posting when we stayed is that I didn't know about TripAdvisor then!

Go stay in this lovely, wonky, friendly little place. It's fab.
