“CVery pleasant surprise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011 via mobile

I knew we were booking in about the least expensive hotel in the area, and that the only room left was a lower end room in a separate building with only a double bed. I expected the worst. In fact, yes it was in the separate, lesser building. And yes it had only a double bed. But it was a decent room, and absolutely clean. The room was better than expected.
The manager was very pleasant and grated us well even though we did not speak French. And she was pleasant and helpful for those coming in or calling, even though she had no more rooms. She tried to help them.

Breakfast was pretty decent for a continental breakfast, and again the manager never stopped cleaning while people came and went...so it was a spotless environment.

I would stay there Gain

“missed opportunity”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

The hotel clerk did not elaborate on any discounts when my husband made an inquiry about the rates. The 'cheaper' room rate is a penny shy of $100. 00 before taxes and is in a older motel building that one approaches first from the highway access. The office is separate and around the curve in the newer hotel building. When we looked for the motel office we were advised by another guest who said that he had also looked for the office but found it down the road. It was a choice of paying for a standard room or driving on and we made the choice to stay. While the room was clean and the breakfast a cold buffet, that is a base expectation and not for a base price. It was on the return trip when we stayed at the Econo Lodge in Montmagny, Quebec, that we discovered the discount for seniors, when it was offered. In my experience in Drummondville just a year ago we found a much bigger roomj not in an Econo Lodge, that was up to date and given a free hot breakfast served to us in the restaurant in the morning. It makes a difference if one feels that one's business is welcome and that the extra effort is made to make the stay a good one and I did not leave St. Apollinaire with that feeling.

“well kept, friendly staff, reasonably priced”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2011

Don't really need to say more than this. Great little motel/hotel with very clean rooms, breakfast included andfriendly staff at the reception desk. Good price. If I am passing in this direction again and need a place to stay I will make a point to stop at this motel.

“best kept secret in quebec”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2008

if you have ever traveled through quebec to new brunswick and looked for a hotel that was clean and you felt safe at then you will definatley be happy that you stumbled on this one as much as we were.
what a nice suprise i travel to new brunswick from toronto several times a year and since last year have stayed at the Pignon a few times now . it is perfect . it is new . it is clean .
the people are very nice . even the ones that do not speak alot of english try very hard to be helpful. the breakfast is included and consists of the usual cereal ,toast, muffins etc... and plenty of it .
the coffee is awsome . the beds are very comfortable.
the motel is what you will run into first as soon as you turn down the road and you are welcome to stay there as well for cheaper .
i have never stayed in one of those units so i cannot comment. i suggest you spend the extra couple of bucks anyway for the luxury the breafast and bar are all at the hotel .
