“Despite the room, you couldn't get a better place to relax”

I visited the White Rocks in August last year. At first I was a little disappointed with my hotel room as it certainly did not live up to a 4 star hotel. However, I was totally bowled over by the hotel itself, the location and the staff. If you want an idyllic setting by the sea you can't ask better than this hotel. The small private beach is nice, if a bit steep. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and there was nothing quite like sitting down for the evening meal outside and watching evening fall. If it hadn't been for the room, i would have given this hotel 5 stars and will certainly return again.

Room Tip: Suggest if you can book a seaview room you should do this. Also, there are suites and bungalows that...

Dear Alison C,

During 2010, major renovation and refurbishement work took place in our 62 Seafront Junior Suites and Superior Bungalows.

This season we are delighted to announce that all of our 102 guestrooms at the main hotel complex have also been fully renovated and refurbished to a five stars standard. The building works have started on October 2011 and we are ready to welcome our guests, as scheduled, on May 1st, 2012.

Thank you for having chosen the White Rocks for your vacation, we are very pleased that your experience with us was excellent and we are looking forward into welcoming you again soon.

Sincerely,

Sivylla Logotheti

“Will definitely return excellent location and friendly staff”

We had a very good stay at the White rocks, the location is perfect, nice small private beach althought a bit of a climb.(difficult for people with limited mobility) Staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed in the main hotel and the rooms were a bit basic but very clean. They were due to be refurbished the week after we left.
The food in the restaurant was very good and the service was excellent.
My only disappointment was with the entertainment provided (or lack of).Admittedly we went at the end of the season (October ) so that could have been a factor.

“An Excellent place to Chill Out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

We went here as we had been recommended it by two other, separate lots of friends: we were not disappointed. The hotel is on several levels throughout, so you do need to be good on your feet, and there is a private beach which is down a steep slope, but its worth the walk! The rooms looked clean but a little dated - however, after only 2 days of our stay, we were asked to move and offered one of the more luxurious bungalows, in the grounds - we later found out that this was because they were going to completely renovate the hotel this winter, and were hoping to start on the wing we were in. The bungalows are as someone else has said on here, decorated and kitted out to a very high standard. They all appeared to have a good view, and most of them are very private as regards the balconies/terraces. The food was good, not outstanding, but a varied menu and in fact almost too much to eat at times - there was waiter service but we understand that this may be changed after the renovations to a buffet. The staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful. Most of them had worked there for many years. We left on the last day of the hotel being open for this year, and were offered a free lunch by the Management before we went to the Airport; a nice gesture. There are 3 beaches within easy reach & some shops within walking distance. If its not too hot, its also possible to walk into the Capital, Argostoli, and you can catch a bus back later. We stayed for a fortnight and felt thoroughly chilled out by the end of our very pleasant stay. Recommend this as a place to relax totally.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a Sea View: the other side of the hotel is near a noisy main road. If you can afford t...

It was a long time ago (August) but a lovely return visit to the white rocks with my parents and husband. Food I thought had improved on the previous year, but would still prefer a buffet style. Lunches always good. Its a beautiful spot on the island, lovely staff, would recommend.

Room Tip: We had a bungalow whilst my parents were in the main building. Bungalow is nice if you want a bit mo...

“loved it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We were lucky in October to have fabulous weather. We stayed in a bungalow that was decorated and furnished to a high standard , it was very swishy! We found the Maitre' D to be frustrating as we never seemed to get an edge of balcony table! However, the food was delicious and plentiful. The beaches were good and we loved the location. Beware if you have any mobility problems; there are many steps and our bungalow was a long walk from the main building.

We heard from others that if you are unlucky and get a road view bedrom in the main hotel they are very dark. It is worth paying more for a bungalow. Enjoy as we did!

Room Tip: Pay for a bungalow
