“An Excellent place to Chill Out”

We went here as we had been recommended it by two other, separate lots of friends: we were not disappointed. The hotel is on several levels throughout, so you do need to be good on your feet, and there is a private beach which is down a steep slope, but its worth the walk! The rooms looked clean but a little dated - however, after only 2 days of our stay, we were asked to move and offered one of the more luxurious bungalows, in the grounds - we later found out that this was because they were going to completely renovate the hotel this winter, and were hoping to start on the wing we were in. The bungalows are as someone else has said on here, decorated and kitted out to a very high standard. They all appeared to have a good view, and most of them are very private as regards the balconies/terraces. The food was good, not outstanding, but a varied menu and in fact almost too much to eat at times - there was waiter service but we understand that this may be changed after the renovations to a buffet. The staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful. Most of them had worked there for many years. We left on the last day of the hotel being open for this year, and were offered a free lunch by the Management before we went to the Airport; a nice gesture. There are 3 beaches within easy reach & some shops within walking distance. If its not too hot, its also possible to walk into the Capital, Argostoli, and you can catch a bus back later. We stayed for a fortnight and felt thoroughly chilled out by the end of our very pleasant stay. Recommend this as a place to relax totally.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a Sea View: the other side of the hotel is near a noisy main road. If you can afford t...

It was a long time ago (August) but a lovely return visit to the white rocks with my parents and husband. Food I thought had improved on the previous year, but would still prefer a buffet style. Lunches always good. Its a beautiful spot on the island, lovely staff, would recommend.

Room Tip: We had a bungalow whilst my parents were in the main building. Bungalow is nice if you want a bit mo...

“loved it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We were lucky in October to have fabulous weather. We stayed in a bungalow that was decorated and furnished to a high standard , it was very swishy! We found the Maitre' D to be frustrating as we never seemed to get an edge of balcony table! However, the food was delicious and plentiful. The beaches were good and we loved the location. Beware if you have any mobility problems; there are many steps and our bungalow was a long walk from the main building.

We heard from others that if you are unlucky and get a road view bedrom in the main hotel they are very dark. It is worth paying more for a bungalow. Enjoy as we did!

Room Tip: Pay for a bungalow

“Will definately be going back to White rocks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

We had a wonderful holiday at White rocks, the location is perfect for the most relaxing holiday.
We stayed in the main part of the hotel and as other reviews say the bungalows have all been recently renovated and are very nice, we could not complain about our room it was very clean and comfortable, and the view from the balcony was beautiful, and we also had air con. The staff were all great, very hard working and friendly. We could not fault the meals and the waiter service was excellent, yes sometimes you had to wait a little while but what is the rush when on holiday. We will be going back next year definately. The grounds are very well kept and so many places to sit either in the sun or in the shade all with stunning views. The private beach is small and very peaceful with a bar between the beach and the swimming pool, great place to sit in the shade of the trees and have a cool drink mid afternoon and the corner bar is just a short walk within the hotel grounds, perfect to sit on and evening looking out over the sea with a cocktail.

Room Tip: We chose a room with a sea view which is what we got.

“Like A Dream”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

We went for our wedding and honeymoon in early September. I would highly recommend visiting around this time or even later in the month because the weather is perfect! The mornings are cool and even in the hottest part of the day, you can catch a cool breeze in the shade or under an umbrella.

I would recommend staying in the bungalows if you are visiting for a special occasion. We were originally going to stay in a regular room, but asked to be upgraded to a bungalow because the air conditioner in the room is more of a fan. Our friends who stayed in one of the regular rooms said the same thing about their air conditioner. So I would imagine all of the regular rooms have the same cooling issue. But the bungalows have really good air conditioners, have king size bed and a stocked mini fridge. The regular rooms do not have king size beds. On the other hand, I was told by the staff that they will be refurbishing the hotel this winter season.

The staff put together a gorgeous gourmet meal for us on our wedding night. I have pretty high standards when it comes to food, and this was definitely "wedding worthy" and very flavorful. They included a floral center piece at the dinner as well, and we didn't even request one. They also thoughtfully surprised us by lining everyone up before dinner to welcome us into the dining room with a round of applause. We felt like celebrities! When we got back to our room, some of the staff put together a cd of pictures they took of us our wedding day with a super cute card. It was really sweet. They also brought in roses, champagne and candles for our room. That was a great day : )

All of the staff was incredibly helpful and kind. By the end of our trip, we felt like part of the family! The grounds are well kept and the views were insanely beautiful. If you want the full effect of all of the spectacular views around the island, there is an island tour that will pick you up at the hotel and take you all around the island on a coach/bus. You won't regret it!!!

There is a snack bar by the private beach and a full service bar on the larger beach, so you are never far from a refreshment. Both beaches are very clean. Although, the private beach is much more quiet if you like to nap : ). The sunsets were magical and the blue water was mesmerizing. It felt like we were in a dream!

Room Tip: The bungalows won't disappoint you!
