At £65 b&b for a triple room on a Saturday night this really was exceptional value for money. The motel style room was clean and adequately sized. The carpet, furniture and bathroom suite all seemed to be quite newish. The beds were comfortable, although there was some late night noise from local youths who were skateboarding which light sleepers might find disturbing.
The service was prompt and friendly checking-in, ordering food and checking-out. Breakfast was enjoyable with a choice of cereals, yogurts and cooked selection (including full English). Food in the evening was standard pub fare and portions were gigantic. There was some very good live entertainment on in the bar although this could not be heard from the room.
Good children's play area outside and children are generally made to feel very welcome. High chairs are available in the restaurant and there are baby change facilities.
Easy access to all Forest of Dean attractions.
