“cyclists dream, with home comforts!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2011

We arrived and were made to feel at home straight away, witha nice cup of tea! The room was spacious , bright and very clean, with amazing art work by Emma.
Its about a 5 min walk to the beach and Emma and Phil can give you plenty of cycle paths to follow, we cycled for miles and miles.
Every day at the bottom of the road there is a market, both food and other stuff, we bought a picnic and went off on our bikes the whole day. Cycling along the coast and into pine forests, where you can walk to the beach, and they are vast!!!
The really nice thing is they have a bar and we took a very nice G & T up with us whilst we showered, we were very spoilt.
Emma cooks 5 hights a week and the menus are amazing, she uses fresh produce from the market, and its just lovely chilling with a glass of Pineau and discussing with the other guests (from all over the world) where you have been and what else you have missed out on!
We enjoyed it so much that I have rebooked today for a week this time, as there is still so much to do!
Ps nice restaurant at the bottom of the road, run by Christine, Emma will know which one and book for you, its expensive but amazing!!!

“Made to feel very welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2010

Stayed recently for the one night at Ma Maison De Mer and we were made to feel very welcome and totally understand why Emma and Phillip get such good reviews. It seems nothing was too much trouble for them.
Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast plentiful and well presented.
No hesitation in recommending to others.

“Don't want to go home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2010

It's not possible to add much to all the good stuff that's already been written about Ma Maison de Mer ... it's a special place run by a couple who have a genuine enthusiasm for what they offer. I've never been made to feel more welcome at a B&B or hotel.

We're at MMdM at the moment and have just extended our stay because the experience is so pleasant. It's mid Sept the sun is shining, St Palais is not over crowded ... all very relaxing.

It's hard to be believe that anyone could write a negative review of MMdM.

And my wife loved the toiletries! And I loved the good WIFI access.

“Over priced”

The general appearance of hotel is lovely but for the price a lot of things are lacking. Electric heaters, bathroom which needed total renovation and the hardest towels I have ever experienced in a hotel.

The portion control of butter was a disgrace - 1 small wrapped butter each ! Although we were given more when we asked. The couple beside us at breakfast also asked for more butter.

Hotel is in a very good location and I liked the decor, it was a pity to spoil it with such little details.

“Relaxing, comfortable and Idyllic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2010

Perfectly situated with a short walk to the beach and town of St Palais. the house exceeded our expectations with top class, tasteful furnishings with extra special touches that made the holiday experience very special. The area offers spectacular beaches and a pretty town with a variety of shops and restaurants. Can recommend Chez Bob, Chez Lolo and Nausicaa for food and a good atmosphere with great views over the bay. Emma and Phil were the perfect hosts with lots of local knowledge, recommending places to visit which were are great success. Our first visit to France and it was the perfect solution for getting away from the stresses of normal everyday life.
