This is a fairly standard Campanile - no frills, but clean and well maintained. The staff were among the friendliest and most helpful we have come across. The food was quite good and there were some locals who had come out just to dine there, which is always promising. The breakfast buffet was a bit sparce - as with many Campaniles they seemed to let the food start to run out long before breakfast officially closes (at 9am on a weekday).
I do have to mention the road noise though. Anyone booking can see clearly from the map that this is on the Rouen ring road - in fact that was one of its attractions for us, it involved no detour at all. However you might not realise it is literally right by the road side, next to a roundabout, with only a couple of trees between you and the ceaseless traffic. This road never quietens! There is a never ending stream of lorries thundering past all night and it was without doubt the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in, and that includes ones in the centre of capital cities. We may well use it again, but we will take ear plugs next time.
