“Very welcoming hotel”

This charming hotel is situated on a quiet square in Souillac. The proprietors are very welcoming and helpful and English is spoken. Our room was spacious and very clean with an outlook over the square. Private parking is available for a small supplement but there is ample free parking not far away. There is a good selection for the continental breakfast. We stayed here two nights -but could have stayed longer !
If you require an evening meal we enjoyed the restaurant in the Grand Hotel, not far away on the main street

“totally delightful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

We had intended to stay here for just a night, before venturing down the Dordogne River in our canoe, but I ended up staying longer as my partner did the first trip on the river solo.
The hotel was lovely and surprisingly peaceful. We had a room onto the square and, too, the small restaurant across the way, but there was no night noise, no traffic -- just a lovely view onto a charming small square. This is an older hotel with modern touches. It's very well run by an exceptionally helpful and cheerful couple. The husband is especially outgoing and he helped us tremendously, as a friend would, reviewing the various options and possibilities with respect to the river trip. We're not easily charmed, but I have to say, this short little stay (which we had this past June) still stands out. Just a wonderful little place! And the restaurant across from the entrance is excellent. Wound up eating there two nights in a row. All in all, there really isn't a single negative I can think of. Loved the place!

Room Tip: The view onto the little square is lovely and it's not at all noisy. We slept with the window op...

“Lovely Bed en breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

We stayed for 4 nights and it was very good. The rooms are clean en cosy. You have TV and also bath/shower. The service was also very good. We had our daughter with us en they brought immediately sheets and a blanket. De hotelowner is very friendly and helps you with information and what to do in the area. There is also an elevator. Breakfast is fantastic. Fresh juice and fruit, bread, coffee, tea, ... name it. The interior of the hotel is outstanding. The location is good for a walk in the evening, bus during the day you need a car. But lots of things to do, like rocamadour, Foret des singes, La feeërie, Gouffre de Padirac, St Cirque la popie, collognes la rouges, ... We loved it! Great vacation!

Room Tip: Cosy rooms!

“Parfait”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2011

Situated about 500m off the main road in a beautiful little square and opposite a tall partially ruined church facade. Directly in front of the hotel was a small restaurant, le Beffroi, where the evening set 4 course meal at euro 19 was great value and excellent authentically regional cuisine. The restaurant was packed with people, mostly french, on Saturday night and we luckily obtained the last but one table outside around 8pm. There was also a bistro that had tables in the centre of the square.
Hotel parking was 50 metres away.
Breakfast in the cellar was lovely, with local yoghurt, a wide choice of teas and coffees, a gorgeous fruit salad and many croissants. The owner was always very attentive and friendly.
Our room was at the front with white panelled walls and a modern flatscreen tv. We slept with the window open and the shutters closed as there was little/no noise.
Reluctant to leave and regretted that only ate in Le Beffroi on second night.

“Charming Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2011

This is a lovely small hotel. The building itself is beautiful with original features and an impressive staircase. Our room was comfortable, tastefully decorated, quiet and overlooking the basilica, which was very special. Staff were most helpful and welcoming. We only stayed for one night on our way to Sarlat but next time we're in the area we would make sure to stay here again for a few days. Souillac is a lovely small town, a great base to explore the area.
