“Ignore your first impression”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2010

Stayed for 1 night on our way down south. We had a very quiet room that was very clean and it had good air con. From the outside you think "No! what have I booked ". However the outside does not reflect inside. Do not panic. Very modern inside and your mind is soon put at rest.

Locally there is a nearby lake and park which is great for stretching your legs to relax in the middle of a long journey. There is also a good supermarket nearby to stock up if needed.

We ate in the restraunt as there isn't anything else nearby . The choice is limited but I really enjoyed the steak. It was perhaps a little bit pricey.

Overall - we had a great night would stay there again.

“Great base location but car needed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2009

Went here for chateaux holiday and this was our base. Not far from Tours or any of the castles (furthers was 1 hour drive) this hotel is located near the Michelin factory. A car is definitely needed when staying here. From the outside the hotel does not make the best first impression, but the staff is professional and friendly, and one look at the lobby and the restaurant already makes you want to stay. The pool is fantastic with sauna and jacuzzi and we spent many evenings relaxing here. Non-residents do come here for swimming classes so be aware that sometimes you might be told to wait for them to finish before you can go swimming. The rooms were very clean but a little on the small side if shared with young children. Breakfast is very good and there is the option of an 'express breakfast' for those who slept in late and missing the buffet. The dinner menu is good but has few choices which could be a problem if this is your main place to dine, after 4 dinners it all looks the same. Supermarket very close by in case of any emergency purchases needed. Would definitely stay here again.

“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2009

We typically like to stay at nice B & Bs and do not go to chain hotels but this was a great one. Outstanding staff (friendly, accomodating, helpful). The rooms are very sleek and clean (beds with comforters), separate toilet room and bathrooms, small refrigerators.

I had stayed in few Hotel Mercure in France, this one is quite a good one. The bedroom is big and i had a very comfortable stay. Good standard of food served in restaurant, and feeling so good had a nice dinner after a long day trip.

“Useful Accommodation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2006

Once you become fully acquainted with it's location off the peripherique and opposite the Michelin factory, you'll find that this hotel is a good base from which to tour the Loire Valley. Accommodation was very clean, well maintained and well serviced, with air conditioning. Service standards varied dramatically when we stayed - most staff reacted rather than anticipated. Food is functional rather than enjoyable, which is a pity as it's a 30 euro taxi ride to anywhere decent. (Go to La Chope and Bistro la Tranche, both in Tours and both excellent). The indoor swimming pool is a bonus, but was always over-run by local ladies' aqua classes when we wanted to use it!
