“Beautiful hotel but very poor service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

The hotel is really wonderful, beautiful garden, gorgeous room with lots of amenities in the 'Desirade' building with a stunning view of the ocean.

Location is fantastic, calm and quiet and you can walk everywhere in the nice village of Perros Guirec.

Staff at check in and check out kind and competent.

We really loved it at first until we found out that room hadn't been cleaned properly (found a piece of paper under the table and leaves on the carpeting and there they remained for the three days of our stay) , balcony was dirty with leaves and bird droppings and breakfast was well laid out but scarce: less than meets the eye.

We were there to celebrate my partner's birthday so at breakfast I went to the waitress and asked for a crêpe with a candle on it. When she brought it she also handed the bill to my husband!! (It was a 5 euro extra!)

We were both flabbergasted! An appalling lack of manners and sensibility, which added to the general poor service at breakfast ( staff often disappeared and left guests unattended) isn't really up to the stars of the hotel.

This mishap really upset us so we canceled the reservation we had made at the hotel restaurant for dinner and went to celebrate at 'La Cremaillere' instead: a nice and cozy restaurant with good food right by a beautiful church in the central square.

it is certainly the best hotel in the area as it is new and overall well kept but with quite a few wrinkles in need to be smoothed out.

“beautiful hotel and locaiont”

wonderful hotel very good service. Marc at the desk has excellent local restaurant suggestions at reasonable prices. DO NOT eat dinner in the hotel restaurant menu and style of cooking bizarre modern french cooking. Breakfast is OK as is room service.spring for the rooms with the ocean view watching the tide come in and out is remarkable . Book the spa way in advance

“Nice but a bit pricey”

Very design hotel. Rooms a bit small but nice designed, furnished, equipped and very clean. I really recommend a sea-view room! The only negative I found (regardless the size of the room) is that sometimes you could hear someone entering/leaving the room when not carefully closing doors.

The staff was helpful and trying to make an impression of "big" hotel but doesn't work all the time. When arriving, we were waiting like two minutes when someone show up at the reception, after check in waiting for another 5 minutes (!!) to be taken to our room (they we're not able to find the right person).

I would expect breakfast included for 230 EUR / night, 18 EUR per person for breakfast seems overpriced to me.

“If you come, you must choose the ocean view room.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2010

We stayed at L'Agapa for one night. The package included a dinner, breakfast and a "bain d'argile rose" (pink clay bath).

The first impression coming into the hotel is not one of a 4-star hotel but I guess it is not pretentious... The lobby is small and unimpressive compared to a tpical Four Seasons for instance. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. The room with an ocean view is fantastic but mostly because of the view. The room itself was very small but very clean and nicely decorated with modern features like the blinds swich by the headboard and the flat screen TV.

The ocean view deck is also very nice but wouldn't be of any use during bad weather which is not uncommon in this area. The pool was ok but the hot tub only warm. Steam room and saunas were nice. There is also an exercice room.

The dinner was very nice. we didn't experience any of the problems related in another recent review. I found the food interesting not only for its beautiful presentation but also its taste which i found in some dishes (pleasantly) unusual. The portions were a little small but the meal had several courses so it was ok. The service was not bad although our waitress was clearly newly trained, which I personally don't mind.

We chose to have breakfast brought in our room to enjoy the view privately. There is nothing exceptional with the breakfast. There was enough and it was good but not original.

Overall, the experience was very good but it's hard to say how it would have been if the weather had not been so great, which made the views more beautiful and the sun-filled deck a real treat. The inside of the hotel is nice but not worthy of 4-stars in my opinion. The price of the package for 2 is quite high at 460 euros for a night with dinner, breakfast and a spa treatment. I would go again though, hoping for a sunny stay.

“Amazing view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 July 2010

I have been at this hotel for a week. We were four so we stayed at their master bedroom witch was at the top of the hotel and as two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a parfect living room with home cinema.
The breakfast was good also but nothing extraordinary. We stayed their at the summer so we used the swimming pool wicht was obviasely to smal.
I would certantly recommend this hotal to everyone that wants to stay at Perros Guirrec.

Love it
