We booked this hotel via 'cheeptravel.co.uk' for a bargain price of £27. We thought there was a mistake it was that cheap and expected the receptionist to look at us blankly when we said we had booked a suite. Far from it, we arrived after midnight and the night porrter was there to greet us confirming our reservation without hesitation. The hotel is immaculate. The bedroom was spotless, spacious, king size bed with nice crisp bedding, lovely bathroom with all the special 'bits' you would expect in a good quality hotel. We didn't book breakfast as it was pricey at 17 euros each, we decided we would eat at the airport where we were due to pick up our family the next morning. The lobby of the hotel is chic and the bar area very inviting although we did not have chance to sample. I would gladly recommend this hotel. It is a two minute drive to the airport so very convenient.

We stayed at this hotel after our visit to the Bordeaux region because of positive reviews from others, its location near the airport for our 6:10 AM flight to Amsterdam, and because of the early morning shuttle service others had talked about. Here are th positives and negatives about our stay:
Positives--the bartender was very accomodating

1. The shuttle service to the airport doesn't start until 6:30 AM, so we needed to take a 10 Euro, 5 minute cab ride to the airport
2. The hotel room came with only 1 set of towels, plastic glasses, etc-obviously not enough for my wife and me. The front desk should have figured this out when we checked in.
3. We wanted an early dinner because of our early flight plans the next day, but the restaurant does not open until 20:00. I realize this might be standard in the heart of the city of Bordeaux, but this is a business, airport hotel with many people in the same situation I faced.
4. We finally decided on room service so we could eat as early as possible. But room service does not start until 19:30! Worse yet, when we started calling to make our request at 19:20 no one would answer the phone (20 to 30 rings!), so finally I went down to the restaurant at 19:45 and personally ordered the room service.
5. To accompany our meal, we carefully went over the wine list provided in our room and made our selection. When we went to the restaurant (see above) they said they could not take the wine order but I would need to go to the bar to do so (on the other side of the hotel). When I got there the bartender explained that the wine list from the room was not right and they hade very few of the wines shown on the list (and not the one we wanted, of course). At least we finally got an acceptable bottle of wine and some glasses the bartender let us use.
6. One of the 2 elevators in the hotel did not work properly.
7. The location of the hotel does not give one very many choices nearby to eat within walking distance (we had dropped off our rental car)--the closest being 10 minutes walk away (and it was raining).

Booked via Expedia - £54 room only. Easyto get to off the Rocade, Plenty of parking space. Easy checkin at reception. Room big, clean, good TV, small kitchenette - no minibar and limited bathroom amenities. Internet EUR4 for 30 mins. After a drive from Niort wanted a drink - barman did not turn up so bar remained shut so no drink - thats a first and quite amazing, Restaurant looked expensive so went 500m up the road to a Buffalo Restaurant (chain of restaurants over France, well priced steaks, burgers etc). Returned to hotel for night cap, no drinks so 250m up the road to Novotel for very agreeable surrounds outside overlooking the pool. Coffee in the morning was not charged for as the kind lady in the restaurant said we shouldnt have to pay for a coffee before a flight.

In summary
- Clean
- Close to airport (5 mins drive)
- Big room
But its not a 4 star and not opening the bar is not acceptable

The airport shuttle took 15 minutes to pick us up, with no cue/ people waiting with us at that time, the hotel being a 2 minute drive away.
Once we weren't freezing anymore, the reception wasn't very nice or welcoming upon arrival.
The room is typically airport/ business travellers suited, the bathroom very small. There was a whole set of towels missing and the next morning the wake up call was 10 minutes late.

Although, the shuttle bus service is not offered before 6.30am, the taxi to the airport before this time is not paid by the hotel!
At our early checkout the receptionist was more of a morning grouch.

This was not at all what you expect from a 4 star hotel!!!
Unless you book this hotel with a big discount, do not waste your money and rather stay in one of the other Bordeaux airport hotels.
Do also set your own alarm if you don't want to miss your plane in the morning....
