Couldn't find you in just restaurants so had to write on the hotel review. I had to complete the ratings on the hotel or I couldn't post the restaurant review so I didn't mark down as didn't think it was fair having not experienced staying here. Enjoyed a meal here with 3 friends. The renovation is really great, modern yet warm and comfortable at the same time. The staff were really good and eager to please. The complimentary bread is a nice touch but the bread lacks flavour. Watching salt, butter, cream etc is ok at home but when out, taste is what it's all about. My starter was lovely, I had the Salmon and crab tartlet, the side salad that comes with starters looks a bit pub side salad, wouldn't have hurt to have put some dressing on this, the tartlet itself had a lovely flavour but the pastry could have done with being cooked a bit less. The others had portobello mushrooms and one had the duck. The duck was good but the stuffing on the mushrooms dry but they said it was a good flavour dish. My main course of lamb chops with leeks was amazing although again I had to add salt to both, I would choose again. Two friends went for the belly port, the crackling was good and the amount of meat served was generous. They said it was very tender and again flavour was good. This was served with herby mash and two mini tartlets with apple sauce. They did say that it could have done with a sauce as it was a bit of a dry meal. My other friend had chicken with mango on rice which she enjoyed. Plenty of vegetable were served with the meal and these were good. We didn't have room for desserts which was a shame as there were great choices on there. On the whole I very much enjoyed the evening and would go back
