We used the Weston Manor hotel to host a couple of dinners on consecutive evenings in early January - one for around 25 people and the other for around 80 as had organised an event nearby that attracted some of the cream of the motorsport industry from around the world. As the dining room was too small to accommodate this larger number, we used the marquee that had been set up in the grounds of the hotel. While this was a risk bearing in mind the time of year and the possible weather conditions, it was one we thought worth taking and in the event, everything was fine and the way that the marquee was decorated was superb.
I have to comment on the really superb meals that were served to our guests on both nights as they were of the highest quality. We had already had a food tasting session at the hotel in November and had selected the menu, but when serving to a large number, it can go wrong, but not in this instance. What also helped was the very attentive staff who played their part in making both evenings a great success.
We chose the hotel as the recommended venue for our speakers and delegates as it is so different from the characterless ones that are so often selected for corporate events and we were warmly congratulated on our choice. It might not have had all the facilities of a modern 5 star hotel while having creaky floorboards and a slightly bizarre room numbering system, but it really did the job. Its quirkiness actually added to its appeal, especially for our overseas guests. Furthermore, the breakfast each morning was also a great way to start the day.
Would we go back there again? Certainly - the venue, the food, the staff were all superb.
