We stayed at the Pushkar one but TA would not open a new listing for them so thought I would add here as I expect both to be fairly similar.
I would either stay in a hotel for the fair (in the town) or stop at the fair for a couple of hours and then drive on to another location. The tented camp was fairly underwhelming and quite boring at night once the sun went down as there was nothing to do (dinner was not til 8pm and the sun set at 6pm) – not even a bar even though they served beer (no wine of course!)
Expected a lot more but you really just get a tent and some buffet food. I suppose I had a rather romantic vision in my head of tribal rugs and cushions piled high, so maybe my expectations were too high. The French tour groups didn’t really add to my enjoyment, it seems if you are in a group it’s ok to push in and talk really loud.
Pros: a bed to sleep in, nice buffet food, transport to the fair
Cons: decorated like cheap Indian wedding (not a glamorous tented camp), no information provided regarding how to get to the fair or times of meals etc, very overpriced
