“Surfcastle ... best place to stay in Baleal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2008

I Stayed 10 nights at the Surfcastle in August and had a great time.

The location is ideal with the property having several beaches on its doorstep and a number of bars and restaurants a few minutes walk away. The house itself is unique and certainly stands out. Overall the place was kept very clean, the breakfasts were huge, and the staff were very helpful, friendly and easygoing.

Oh, and the surf lessons were great fun! I definitely learnt enough to get me started in surfing and I now find myself desperate to get back into the water again.

I will definitely go again ... when I can afford another holiday!

A wonderful place.
To relax, to surf, to lern surf, to have fun, for everything!!!!!
I've been there for two weeks, one of the best vacation in my life!!

The house is great, all the rooms( I booked too late, I slept wherever in the house) are warm, homely with a very nice vintage interior decor, room n.5 is the only one not on the sea side but it's so lovely to forget it!! The cleaning girl works everyday from monday to sunday and the guys working there (all of them) are friendly, helpful and sooo nice!

A really great experience, heartily recommend for everyone!!!

“Surfers Paradise”

Just spent a long weekend at Surfcastle and the least i can tell you is that it was a great experience! For those who surf, want to learn how to, or just spend this is the place to be.
The house is beautifull and strategically located right in front of one of the most notorious waves around: Lagido.
The rooms are big, tidy and with amazing sea views.
The staff (portuguese, dutch and new-zealander) were extremely helpfull and relaxed, making everything they could to make you feel at home.
The atmosphere was always very relaxed, with guests from Portugal, Holland, Russia, Germany, USA and Switzerland watching the Euro 2008 matches together. Some celebrated more than others, of course...
The beach is great and walking distance from the "castle".
There are plenty of restaurants and bars around and a supermarket too.
Only problem: during the days i spent there the waves were always quite small... ; )
