“Excellent, friendly hotel with outstanding service and food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2011

We stayed for a week and were much impressed. the rooms are lovely. there is a log fire to welcome guests all day. the lounge areas are very comfortable and the owners are extremely welcoming. We had a health problem and they could not have been more helpful. the food is excellent too. this hotel is a little out of town and this is part of its charm because it is in a prime high position, giving the rooms spectacular views.

“Comfortable B&B with charm and outstanding customer service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2011

We stayed 4 nights at Hotel Du Pillon and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel has lots of charm and character and the rooms, whilst not luxurious, are extremely comfortable and exceptionally clean. The owner Francis was friendly and helpful without imposing in any way and his chef, Jean-Phillipe, produced outstanding traditional food. Les Diablerets is an expensive place to visit, therefore, Hotel Du Pillon isn't exactly great value for money, however, compared to the other restaurants and hotels in the village, the prices were fairly standard. We would highly recommend this hotel.

“A unique and delightful hotel, with a charming atmosphere and excellent and thoughtful service.”

This hotel is in a lovely location about 10 minutes walk from Les Diablerets.
It is very much the personal vision of its owner who takes a lot of care both in the physical quality of the place and the service given.
My room on the first floor was quiet, spotlessly clean and charming, with a balcony and lovely view and ensuite facilities. The upper floors of the hotel is currently undergoing some refurbishment , but this did not create any disturbance.
The public rooms are also very pleasant and full of character with interesting objects and paintings.
The service was excellent and very thoughtful. Please note that there is no menu for evening meal served to guests - it is whatever the owner decides to provide that evening, but it was always very good and he was very considerate in his accommodation of my specific dietary requirements. There is also a good choice of food for breakfast and in both cases some really nice local produce.
All hotels describe their customers as guests, but in Hotel du Pillon I really did feel like a guest . It is a great place not only to be in but also from which to explore the beautiful surrounding area. I came away having had a wonderful time and feeling really relaxed. I am looking forward to returning.

“Feels like a cozy family home. Owner was very nice and friendly. Highly recommended!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

The owner kindly collected us from the train station upon our arrival. The hotel is about 15 min walk from the station. So it really helped as we have our luggages and 3 children with us. We had dinner at the hotel one night and the paella was very good! My only complaint was the dessert which came out of a tin can! We had a family room w ensuite shower. But we have to walk down the hall to the toilet - quite an odd configuration I thought. I couldn't believe it when I found out the hotel offers FREE internet wi-fi connection! So I was able to check my email and Facebook on my iPhone. Overall stay experience, food, cleanliness, views, location, friendliness --- all 4 stars !!

“Charming, cozy, beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 May 2010

The owner is very nice and welcoming. The room and common areas are wonderfully decorated and the location, although not ideal when you don't go by car, is perfect in terms of view and quietness. A lovely and romantic experience!
