Compared to the previous reviews the hotel was seriously improved, with a newly renovated restaurant, new kitchen and reception area.
The 7 story hotel building itself is not a beauty but the rooms inside (especially on the 7th floor) were nice and had great views. 300m to walk to the skilift (telecabin)
Staff were exceptionally friendly and try to make forget the not so glorious past of the hotel in the reviews. Swimming pool is large and nice, also the spa. Well worth the money in the pre-season.

major sickness outbreak at hotel, vomiting & diarrhea, no warning to guests despite being a problem for 3 weeks! Hotel staff blame guests/parents for letting sick children go in pool etc. 7 of 15 in our group sick. Met many other guests who had been ill, staff not interested because they are busy & hotel full

Hotel has superb Swimming Pool, Sauna, Jacuzzi, fitness centre etc. Pool Tables and games room were good. Nice bar area with open fire to relax in during our stay. Huge dining area downstairs with dancing area. The bedrooms have been refurbished to a good standard, cleaned everyday and towels changed. The upper dining area served a really good breakfast choice, boiled eggs, toast, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit and fresh fruit salad, lots of breads, jams, yoghurts etc. The evening meal was awful, very rare beef, little fresh veg, next night was turkey and it took three hours to serve three courses with a two hour gap between the first and second course. Another meal consisted of boiled jacket potatoes with hot cheese scooped over them, gherkins, cooked onions and smoked meats, weird. Unfortunately two coaches arrived at the same time and the staff could not cope with 90 people in one sitting. Management apologised and provided free wine but if they take large bookings they should cater for the needs of the holiday maker. Would have been better to have gone bed and breakfast. The hotel is up a narrow road and following a small snow flurry the local bus service had to ferry people from the coach back to the hotel. Good place to stay for skiing with the kids as the ski lift is within a few minutes walk. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Remember this is a 3 star hotel and that's what you are paying for. Music from a lady saxophonist was good.

"Whilst the location and bedrooms were OK the quality of the food was awful and the attitude of the catering staff was appalling.
eg food - food a toothpick in my bread, hairs in the soup, bread stale
hygiene - tablecloths not cleaned
service - gave up on the catering service and had to serve ourselves. Waitress showed no interest in customer service
