While we stayed at a different property in Leukerbad (The Hotel Astoria) we chose to pay 75 Euros to use the luxury pools here instead of the noisy, smelly baths in town which were free with our hotel room. What a bummer. When we paid our fees to enter, we were not told that there would be no towels or robes provided, nor did we get any information about how to navigate the maze to get to the pools. Only because we saw some other guests enter did we figure out where to go, then stumbled around to change, and take the mandatory showers. After that one must go upstairs to enter the indoor, then outdoor pools. Wet and cold, with no towels, we were very uncomfortable and felt most out of place. No one ever approached us to help - there was no one in the changing area or at a desk near the stairs to the pools. It was not worth the cost. We looked and felt unwelcome.

There is nothing truly wrong with the hotel other than it is overpriced for what you get, but it's location to the Alpentherme spa is what makes it a place to consider. The spa services are great and it's very convenient to walk over from the hotel in your bathrobe, but given the high price tags on the rooms, you might consider staying elsewhere. If your main purpose for staying in Leukerbad is not to use the spa, I would not recommend the Lindner. Their rooms are slightly outdated and small, not making them a great value. The staff is very friendly and the food was quite good.

A huge disappointment. Service and the rooms were not 4 star, 3 or 2 maybe. They are out of date and dingy and we didn’t stay in the cheapest room either. Was full of men in their 60s and 70s with 20 year old girlfriends. They were the ones that received the best service. The pools were okay, its attached to a large thermal spa which hotel guests have to pay full price for, a bit cheeky considering that its almost part of the hotel. Would have preferred to have stayed at a nicer hotel and paid for the baths. Will definitely go back to Leukerbad but won’t stay at this hotel..

The arrival is great - you arrive in the center of town, enter the large wonderful and modern lobby and look into the smile of the receptionist. The wow factor got you! And then you get into the time machine when you walk through the corridors in your room: It all looks a bit cheap, more utility room like and then the (comfort double) room: A joke for CHF 450 a night plus parking charge and tax: Do not expect a flat TV screen, air condition, balcony or marble in the bathroom. Expect decors and TV set of the 80's, plastic sinks in the bathroom, a shower in an old bath tub with lots of scratches and a wall paper which should have replaced ages ago and no coffee making facility or water or fruit as a little welcome gift. We complaint and the very, very friendly staff (we felt a bit sorry for them) did everything to make our life better: They offered us an upgrade to a first class room (smaller, but more modern materials used), which does not make a difference or a suite against a CHF 50 surcharge, but which did not impress us either. Our tip for Leukerbad: Sleep somewhere else at a very much cheaper rate and equal quality and use the wonderful lobby bar as a guest and/or the facilities at the Alpentherme against a surcharge. You will have more of it and be a happy citizen in this wonderful mountainous area!
