Stayed at Ecureuil for a ski trip this winter. The proprietor offers a clean, comfortable room for a good price.
A few things to note: 1) Yes, the B&B has Internet access, but you can't get it from your room. You have to use an older Mac in the lobby, and the connection is slow. Expect to pay by the minute and to use a French-language keyboard and browser. 2) The rooms have double beds, but mine was two singles pushed together, rather than the typical queen. 3) Americans may find the rooms small; I thought they were decent for Europe.
Pros: 1) Ecureuil is within walking distance of the train and bus stops -- although you're walking away from the town center, not toward it. 2) The rooms have private bathrooms with super hot water -- nice after a long day on the slopes. 3) The operator is fantastic and speaks English well. 4) The breakfast that comes with the room fee is delicious. 5) There's a mud room for skis and boots that's locked every night, so your equipment doesn't take up valuable room space.
