Although rooms are decent for the price you pay, the hotel is styled in the old-Chantal manner giving you a great spirit of mountains.

Hotel has a very good restaurant with reasonable prices - highly recommended.

Stayed here between Christmas and New Year. The hotel is in desperate need of some tlc throughout. Our room was large and spacious with a balcony and lovely view across the valley. However the room furniture, doors, bathroom equipment really do need to be updated. A fixed very small tv that slides out on a shelf is not really acceptable these days in a hotel like this. One point I really didn't like was that you needed the key to unlock the door from the inside. This ultimately meant that if I put my child to bed and wanted to go to the bar to read I either had to lock him in or leave the door unlocked. Again not acceptable.
On the plus side I would like to commend all the staff here. From reception to bar to dining room they were all unfailingly polite and helpful. Well done to you all. The small dinner menu was well cooked though could have done with being changed a bit and the breakfast buffet again was quite small but ok.
With some updating this hotel could be very good. In it's current state though I can only rate it as ok. Owners please take note!

Very mixed stay. The bedrooms are very nice and spacious, with good balconies and good views. We had a corner room with a view over the road and partial view over the valley. Would not pay for mountain view as you get the same view from the restuarant & bar. The train did not disturb us. The hotel is at the edge of town, but the shuttle bus stops just outside to take you to the train and cable car or you can walk into town in 10 minutes. There is a small and rather chilly swimming pool with beautiful mountain views, but you'd have to be very brave to relax on the loungers there. The sauna is very good, but the steam room lacks both steam and heat. Hotel provides towels, robes and slippers- a nice touch.
The hotel is let down by the poor food- breakfast is pretty basic, closer to a poor 3* than 4*. And at dinner the food is also not great coupled with expensive drinks. In addition, the service at both breakfast and dinner is very, very slow. Allocate a lot of time to having the meagre breakfast buffet replenished, for dirty dishes to be cleared and for your dinner to arrive. One evening it took us 3 hours to have a simple 2 course dinner. They clearly need more staff. The bar service is also very slow. Reception staff friendly but not very knowledgeable. Good ski room, a bit out of the way but at least the stairs are cleared of snow and ice unlike many other ski hotels.

I visited this hotel in July as part of a coach tour. The most impressive part of the holiday was the views from the balcony of my room. Views of the Rhone valley and the surrounding mountains were spectacular.

The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient. I would heartily recommend this hotel
