We have just returned from a week in Verbier and enjoyed ourselves at the Hotel de la Poste. The room, although small, was clean and cleaned everyday. The shower excellent and a real treat after a full day skiing. The food was home cooked, tasty and with 5 courses very filling. The staff helpful and very friendly. The main Medran lift is just a brisk 3 minute walk up the hill.
The only niggles would be the ski room is small and can get crowded in the morning and the decor, whilst in good repair, is dated.
We were told that it is the last family run hotel in Verbier and is also the last hotel to offer half board accomodation and as such represents excellent value for money. The owner enjoys his job and is excellent front of house and works very hard (also - you should see him ski!). I would recommend it to everyone.

The hotel is ideally situated for the main ski lift, a gentle 10 minute stroll up road. The rooms were clean and were cleaned everyday, although the rooms are not huge, they are adequately furnished. One point to note the rooms facing the road side can be noisy at night, so some ear plugs might help! The hotel waiting staff were friendly and attentive and the food was very tasty. All the meals were home cooked and the menu varied all week. Some of our party had dietary requirements which the hotel were happy to accommodate. The weather was great and the skiing areas are great..................A fab holiday!

I stayed here for a week skiing in March. We had a small "suite" on the first floor which suited our requirements well - two seperate bedrooms with a decent amount of space and a shared hall and bathroom.
Main positives of the hotel are the location - close to the main gondolas and pretty easy to find and get into the town. The staff were also friendly and helpful and meals were quite generous - you'd find it difficult to go hungry. We were also fortunate enough to be right above reception so could get wi-fi in our rooms rather than add to the guests using reception to log on.
There were no major problems but a few minor niggles:
Decor: the room, reception, dining area and a couple of floors are extremely dated although it looks like a re-vamp is working it's way down from the top floor. For a hotel of this price and in this resort, I would expect a slightly higher standard.
We're not fussy eaters and whilst the food was normally good and sometimes great, there was no choice at dinner which affected some in our party.
There was a decent selection of wine which had a pretty high mark up (although to be expected) but the ordering of drinks is the only criticism I'd make of the service; it was normally difficult to grab their attention and actually place an order for drinks at dinner or at any other time. There were a couple of occasions where we sat in the lounge after dinner, not to a late hour, and service had pretty much stopped, all lights were out and the reception door was shut and there was no one around to take an order.
There was a lot of noise from the surrounding bars at night which could be a pain but this was just the result of what was otherwise a great, central location in a busy resort.
Overall, it was a positive experience and if I was to revisit Verbier then I'd probably consider this again alongside other accomodation; the resort itself seems to be better suited for those staying in chalets or appartments but if you're looking for a hotel you could do much worse.
I would give the hotel 3.5 out of 5 if I could but feel it's closer to a 3 than a 4.
Whilst not the hotel's fault, I would not choose to return to Verbier for skiing.

We have just returned from a week at the Hotel de la Poste in Verbier where we were made to feel very welcome at this family-run hotel. The staff were all very friendly, kind, helpful and accommodating Our lovely quiet room was on the fourth floor, of a good size with a balcony and en-suite bathroom which was kept spotless. We had clean towels every day and the bed linens were changed midweek. The bathroom even had a tissue dispenser which was kept fully stocked every day. The 5 course dinner was excellent and our dietery needs were catered for with delicious and well-thought out alternatives.
Our early morning departure on the last day meant we would miss breakfast but the thoughfulness of the staff meant that we had a breakfast tray delivered to our room the night before.
We used the swimming pool daily which was a great advantage after a hard day's skiing. Admittedly the decor is a little out of date but that is immaterial when enjoying the hospitality that we experienced. The central location of the hotel was a great advantage - just 5 minutes walk to the main lifts, yet in the town centre. We hope this traditional hotel will continue to thrive in the hi-tech 'boutique' environment.
