“Great location, great service!”

We were a party of 18 staying for a week's skiing and walking.
The Rosalp was styled in a previous era, but the enthusiasm and helpfulness of the staff was fantastic.
For example on our day of departure the staff were all there at 6am to help us onto the coach with our luggage.
The Rosalp is very near the main lift, which is also where one can catch free buses to all Verbier's attractions.
The food was good and the free wine plentiful.
Rooms were large and warm ( with one exception)

“Jan end 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

booked this through Ski Total not quite knowing what to expect.
This is a fantastic quirky hotel - a little dated but that does not detract from the cleanliness and its fantastic location in Verbier.

The food was plentiful , and of a very good standard. The service was really good.

Room Tip: All the rooms are spacious.

“Good Hotel, Great Food, Excellent Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Stayed for a week from 22nd January 2012 with 4 people in the group. The hotel is a little tired - needs new carpets and updating - BUT that's my only criticism. At the time of writing we travelled with Ski Total which ran the Rosalp as a 'premium chalet hotel' but you get a LOT MORE for your money than a standard catered chalet. If the quality of the staff are this great at all the Ski Total properties they have hit gold! Ben, Rachel, Hanna, Kerry, Ellie, Kerri-ann, Lee.....and everyone else (can't remember all the names) 'you're great' :)

Bigger rooms than usual, huge double ski lockers (great for boarders) and a nice wellness room although the spa bath can only fit 1 at a time unless you don't mind sharing with a very close friend!

What REALLY impressed us was the professional attentive staff who were the best staff we've ever met at any resort and we've been to approx 15 chalets/hotels snowboarding in the past.

On top of this the food was the best we've EVER had in any chalet or hotel BY FAR. Tim the in-house chef and his team left us impressed and full every day. Not the usual student that had been on a two week cooking course before the season began!

Great choice for breakfast including a 'hot option' each day which varied but included the usual scrambled eggs on toast or bacon, beans and egg which set you up well for the morning on the slopes.

The mains such as duck a l'orange with dauphinoise potatoes and mixed veg, lamb shank with a rosemary jus with mash and veg to Spicy Thai Curry were outstanding. Each evening there was a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 puddings plus a choice of good quality red, white and rosé wines and not the usual chalet served wines that taste like vinegar!. So much food we could barely finish it but the quality was superb.

Approx. 4 mins walk from the main Medran lift, the Mont Fort pub (pre-evening) and Casbah night club (late nights!).

“Superb Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Just returned as a group of 20 who visited the Hotel for a week on the 15th January 2012. On arrival the staff were all very helpful with bags, skis and snowboards. After a very short delay due only to the number of new guests, Karen allotted us our room, a very spacious twin with electric shutters and a nice verandah. The rooms were cleaned well throughout the week, and I'd like to apologise for my stinky snowboard gear left spread throughout, which was always piled neatly beside my bed on returning after a hard days boarding!
The breakfasts were good, always a cooked option or porridge, along with the normal buffet fare of fruit, cereals, cold meats and cheeses. Evening meals were of a consistently high standards, the portions being more than adequate, always accompanied by large portions of vegetables. The wine selection was ample and flowed freely at mealtimes. The service was very good, those serving always had a smile on their faces and were happy to sort out any requests quickly and without a fuss. The bar area is of a good size and had a pleasant view over Verbier town, and the Bar Manager, Ben, was always helpful and attentive. He'll be there to serve you until the last person leaves!
The location of the hotel is good - about a 5 minute walk from the Medran lift, at the heart of the network which will whisk you up the mountain swiftly, except at weekends when it gets super busy.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Rosalp, rooms, staff, food, location were all top notch, a view reflected not just by me, but the whole group that travelled.
The return journey from Geneva was less painful for us than for some who have already posted reviews. It took us about 10 minutes to check in and then about another 10 to get through security.
Finally a work of warning about Monarch, the charter airline. There ski/snowboard baggage allowance is paltry and seemed to take on a bit of a lottery at Gatwick, with some being checked for weight and others not. If they don't like the look of your hand luggage, they will weigh it. Believe me, it's easy to over fill a limit of 5KG....
Many thanks Hotel Rosalp and the wonderful staff for a fabulous stay.... Enjoy the season, and the wonderful terrain the 4 valleys around Verbier have to offer.

Room Tip: The bathroom in 318 was a bit special, but all the rooms I saw including mine were very good.

“BEST SKI HOLIDAY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We have just returned from 7 great days in a party of 20.The staff were fantastic- nothing was too much trouble. They helped us to and from the coach with the extra ski luggage and were taken to our room (313).
The bedroom and bathroom were large and comfortable and there was no street noise(we are country bumpkins).
Most hurdles placed in front of the staff were jumped with only the odd first refusal eg the cooked breakfast placed in front of our largest man (17 stone and tall) consisted of 2 very small slivers of bacon and a quarter of a tomato! Staff responded with our requests to mix and match the cooked options- all was then very well.
The choice and quality of dinner was excellent.Wine appeared to be unlimited with dinner and the only quirk was that you couldn't take a wine bottle through into the bar area. The comfortable chairs in the dining room overcame this problem!
The 'little things' were also impressive eg the room had a safe with no charge and you used your own credit card as a key-how refreshsingly simple. One oddity was that the room key doubled as the ski locker key (good idea) and we were requested to leave the key in a post box.The post box was then emptied and keys left in a basket at reception that was generally unstaffed. Anybody could have come in and helped themselves to a handfull of room keys and entered the rooms.
The skiing was fantasic thanks to the sun and snow conditions but we were unimpressed with the ski run maps and the marking of the runs.
The cost of food and drinks was almost un real. Thank you Total Ski for 1/2 board- we (2) spent nearly £500 on lunch and drinks.
Geneva airport has now taken the crown from Toulouse as the worst airport. We were late taking off as only one girl was checking 350 boarding cards- we arrived at Gatwick nearly an hour late.
Very many thanks to Karen and her staff for looking after us to such a high standard.
