Just returned as a group of 20 who visited the Hotel for a week on the 15th January 2012. On arrival the staff were all very helpful with bags, skis and snowboards. After a very short delay due only to the number of new guests, Karen allotted us our room, a very spacious twin with electric shutters and a nice verandah. The rooms were cleaned well throughout the week, and I'd like to apologise for my stinky snowboard gear left spread throughout, which was always piled neatly beside my bed on returning after a hard days boarding!
The breakfasts were good, always a cooked option or porridge, along with the normal buffet fare of fruit, cereals, cold meats and cheeses. Evening meals were of a consistently high standards, the portions being more than adequate, always accompanied by large portions of vegetables. The wine selection was ample and flowed freely at mealtimes. The service was very good, those serving always had a smile on their faces and were happy to sort out any requests quickly and without a fuss. The bar area is of a good size and had a pleasant view over Verbier town, and the Bar Manager, Ben, was always helpful and attentive. He'll be there to serve you until the last person leaves!
The location of the hotel is good - about a 5 minute walk from the Medran lift, at the heart of the network which will whisk you up the mountain swiftly, except at weekends when it gets super busy.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Rosalp, rooms, staff, food, location were all top notch, a view reflected not just by me, but the whole group that travelled.
The return journey from Geneva was less painful for us than for some who have already posted reviews. It took us about 10 minutes to check in and then about another 10 to get through security.
Finally a work of warning about Monarch, the charter airline. There ski/snowboard baggage allowance is paltry and seemed to take on a bit of a lottery at Gatwick, with some being checked for weight and others not. If they don't like the look of your hand luggage, they will weigh it. Believe me, it's easy to over fill a limit of 5KG....
Many thanks Hotel Rosalp and the wonderful staff for a fabulous stay.... Enjoy the season, and the wonderful terrain the 4 valleys around Verbier have to offer.
Room Tip: The bathroom in 318 was a bit special, but all the rooms I saw including mine were very good.
