“excellent small hotel in prime location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 March 2010

Lovely hotel about 2 minutes walk from the Alpin Express and 4 or 5 minutes walk from there is the ski school meeting place.
The hotel itself is about 5 minutes walk from the bus station: bear left from the bus station, walk towards the bridge and before you cross the bridge take the little wiggly path down to the hotel. Dont bother with a (very expensive) electric taxi unless you are very old or have enormous amounts of luggage.
Dolomit residents get 10% discount at Cesar Sport ski rental shop outside the Alpin Express lift station. Rent your gear there, what could be easier! Ski back to the Alpin Express at the end of the day and you are in the hotel within a couple of minutes.
The owners were very welcoming and their staff were very nice too.
The room was clean and in good condition, the shower was hot and beds were comfortable. The view from the balcony was AMAZING!
Breakfast was very nice, and you can make a sandwich for your lunch (finding a place to eat it on the mountain requires you to find a nice spot somewhere on the slopes which isnt as easy as it sounds or ignore the 'no picnic' signs in the mountain restaurants).
The evening meals were very good too: soup and bread followed by a salad and then a main course and desert. All very good and filling in a home cooked kind of way. I would recommend going half board at the Dolomit.
In summary we really had a great time here and we will definately come back.

“Thoroughly recommended”

Simple, clean, comfortable, friendly and great value for money. It just goes to prove that you don't always need 5-star facilities to be impressed and feeling very content with your choice of hotel. The staff here are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a good continental selection. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are bags provided for guests to make up their own lunch pack from the buffet, although I would prefer guests not to do this while others have yet to get their own breakfast! The bar was open from 3pm but free coffee was available anytime. One reviewer has mentioned the spartan towels and I would agree that they leave something to be desired. Also there was no soap in the bathroom, although reception provided some on request. But all in all, this is a neat place to stay and in it's category and price range, it's just right. Of course, you could indulge in luxury facilities by staying at the Ferienart Resort and Spa in Saas Fee instead; but then you'd have to put up with staff who consider themselves far more important than their customers. I'd much rather stay in the Bergsporthotel Dolomit thank you very much!

“THE perfect place to stay in Saas-Fee!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 March 2009

It was full season when we decided to go to Saas-Fee skiing. Our choices weren´t that big of where to stay and we also didn´t want to spend too much money. Even though the Dolomit was supposedly a 2 star hotel, we couldn´t have chosen any better. Friendly staff, cute rooms, cosy bar, great location, and even a small sauna. At breakfast, there were bags on the buffet table so you could make your own sandwiches and take them with for the day!
The Dolomit will definitely be the place we´ll be choosing again when we go up to Saas-Fee!

“Cracking little hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2008

We stayed here for a long weekend skiing in April 08 and had a great stay.

It is run by a lovely young couple who went out of their way to make sure everything was OK for us. They were very helpful prior to arrival, allowing us to check in several hours early and even found a spare table to put on breakfast for us after our drive out from UK, despite the dining room being full. They have pretty much thought of everything you could possibly need, even down to a little chocolate on your pillow on arrival. They very kindly allowed us to leave our bags there having checked out, so we could ski all day then change and grab a shower before heading home.

The hotel is in really good condition, it has clearly recently been renovated and is well looked after. The rooms are very clean and comfortable; we found there was plenty of space for 2 people and all our ski gear in the double rooms. There is underfloor heating which is fantastic, gloves etc quickly dried on the bathroom floor. The bathroom was fairly new and worked perfectly well, no bath but the shower was absolutely incredible - extremely powerful and piping hot water. The hotel towels are a bit spartan but adequate, I recommend taking your own if you are fussy about this sort of thing. There is a sauna downstairs that was great to unwind in at the end of the day.

Breakfast was good, there was plenty of traditional continental food/hot drinks and you could make sandwiches for lunch (bags provided) if you're on a budget. Lunch up the mountain costs about 50 SFrancs for 2 people eating reasonably but not boozing. Not sure about the evening meals, we didn't stay in for supper, it was pretty cheap though (22 SFrancs a head) and probably very tasty.

The location is superb, it's about 2 mins walk from one of the main lifts up the mountain, although for beginners the nursery slopes are 8-10 mins. It's very close to the restaurants in town and has 2 supermarkets 50m away (not that town is big anyway). If driving, it's 10 mins walk from the car park, or an electro taxi will cost about 25 SFrancs (13quid). You can borrow a small cart from the hotel to save carrying your gear to/from the car park.

Overall - a really nice friendly hotel that is well run and awesome value for money. It's slightly more basic than 5 star luxury, but I highly recommend a stay here.

“Clean and Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2008

Stayed here for 3 nights in January 08, after searching for somewhere cheap but quiet. It was very comfortable and clean, and in a quieter part of Saas Fee (the other cheaper option being right above a busy nightclub so we were glad to not go there!). Highly recommended if you don't mind something comfortable but with no frills.
