“Great hotel, good location and friendly and helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Just come back from a ski holiday in Saas Fee with two adults and a 14 year old. Saas Fee is beautiful and the DuGlacier is great. The hotel is in the centre of the village with a ski rental shop opposite and the ski bus just a minute walk away. Our room on the first floor was a decent size with twin beds and a sofa bed, with a fridge mini bar. Bathroom was good size with a plenty of hot water which was great for soaking aching ski legs!! The room was cleaned every day. Only minor problem was the door handle which my daughter and I found difficult to open. We stayed half board, the breakfast is typical continental and the four course evening meal was really good. All the staff are excellent and very friendly. The view of the glacier from the restaurant is lovely. There are two bars in the hotel and the drinks in the hotel are no more expensive than anywhere else in the village. There is a supermarket right next to the hotel. We didnt use the leisure facilities so cant comment on them. There is a ski and boot room in the hotel but we utilised the boot and ski storage facilities at the slopes (10 francs for a week) If you dont use the ski bus it is a leisurely just less than 10 min walk in ski boots to the slopes. We would definitely go to the Du Glacier again.

“Very impressed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

I came here with my family as a skiing holiday, two adults two children, the hotel is beautiful with a pick up service running to and from the car park as it is a long way from the car park and no cars are allowed into Saas-Fee itself. We stayed in the apartment on the top floor (the one with the circular window shown in the picture). We came for the skiing aswell as enjoying the beatiful town, the position of the hotel is in the centre of the town making it quite easy to walk to and from the slopes but not what you'd class as 'ski in, ski out' I've stayed further away from the slopes in Saas-Fee and also closer but as long as you're fit enough to ski the walk shouldn't be too much of an effort. The beds were very comfortable with cleaners very realiablel and trustworthy, felt like home!

Room Tip: Rooms on the side facing slopes is a beatiful view!

“Great staff, great room, great value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Location good, in centre of town, close to Dorf Platz where the buses (in shape of trains!) run from. Room was more like a suite, with 2 bedrooms and a huge living area. Couple of slight niggles - no fridge in room, but the balcony sufficed to keep drinks cool! And the room was very hot, and no thermostat to adjust, but again opening windows and balcony doors was sufficient, but not ideal.
Value was very good, with free lift passes thrown in for entire family (only on certain dates in low season). Drinks from bar were not too bad either, and the local beer was especially good value. Also, free child care in sister hotel across the road, from 9am til 6pm (even til 9pm if necessary).
Food was good, with reasonable choice in Mondial restaurant, and option of eating in the rustic Feeloch bar with a credit of SFr30pp. Wine was expensive, and not the quality to justify the price.
Leisure facilities were OK, no pool, but could use the spa in the Ferienart across the road for a fee. Nudity is compulsory in the sauna and steam room, so be warned if easily embarrassed!
Best part? The staff. They really are the friendliest people ever. Nothing too much trouble. Well done Du Glacier, we will be back.

Room Tip: Mischabel apartments are good value - more like hotel suites.

“Excellent location and a wondeful stay”

My husband and I stayed here over the New Year and absolutely loved it. The hotel itself is in a very good location, close to all ski lifts and cable-cars, we could even see 3 different cable-cars out of our window ( we had a glacier view). Hotel has marvellous jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, and they are not busy at all. Lying in a jacuzzi overlooking the glacier is a great experience. We haven`t booked a table for New Year`s Eve diiner and the hotel manager has kindly arranged for us to dine in a BBQ restaurant at the hotel, and we absolutely loved the food there. The room was always very clean and the breakfast buffet is large and enjoyable. There is absolutely nothing that we disliked. Wondeful place.

Room Tip: glacier view room is worth paying extra for!

“Best value 4* in Saas Fee”

Have stayed in the DuGlacier at least 6 times over the years and held our wedding service in its dining room this August 2011.

The rooms are clean well appointed and the hotel is located right on the town square in Saas Fee close to the Alpine Express Gondola and the main supermarkets and bars. Allot of the rooms had fridges so you could store drinks and food for your backpack. They also provide free soft drinks in the mini bar.

Breakfast in the hotel is typical European fare with plenty of fresh fruit, cured meats and cereals. The coffee is fantastic.

The staff are this hotels biggest asset incredibly friendly and will do anything they can to facilitate your stay. Daniel and Santina are some of the best hotel staff I have ever meet and really do go out of their way to look after you.

It has the worlds weirdest hot tub's they are almost like a bath but have to be experienced. The Sauna is excellent.

I could not recommend this hotel enough to anyone looking for a good value 4* in Saas Fee

Room Tip: Get a room with a Glacier view pays for itself every morning. Don't be afraid to use the minibar...
