This hotel is called family friendly on the internet. Our experience is different. We arrived at 13.00. There was no one at the reception to welcome us. It turned out that the whole personnel was busy with the self service restaurant for day trippers. The guestwive was finally found to check us in, but she forgot us. After another fifteen minutes of waiting I asked again to check us in and then finally the guestwive appeared.
The hotel is located at the end of a valley. It turned out to be a car free valley. Nothing wrong with that, but the guestwive commanded us to remove the car from the valley immediately. However, she was not willing to send the hotel bus to pick us up, what service! Family friendly? They let a five year old boy walk back all the way to the hotel where we left the luggage. An 8 kilometers walk!
We arived again at 17.00, almost evening. So we couldn't go to the glacier anymore, the purpose of our stay.
Next morning the hotel bus brought the few guests to the village of Pontresina at 09.30, and only at 09.30. So we had no opportunity to look around. If your hotel is located in a car free valley and you say you have a bus service, please let it drive. And a sign at the entree of the valley would be helpfull aswell.
The hotel itself is clean and in touch with the surroundings, but we where glad to escape this place: there was a strange vibe in the building, like in a thriller. We stayed there half august, main season, but there were almost no guests. The very unfriendly hotel personnel gazed at us as if they wanted to tell us that we could better leave, because we were not welcome.
