As with other reviewers we found the Hotel Walther a very pleasant and beautiful place to stay. Our junior suite was spacious, nicely furnished and had two balconies with spectacular views of the mountains. The housekeeping service was impeccable, always prompt and unobtrusive - although surprisingly no chocolates on the pillow at turndown... (I found the beds and the pillows a little hard but my husband and son after skiing all day every day had no complaint. ) The hotel pays particular attention to its large dining room where the food and service are outstanding! We stayed on the half-board plan which included breakfast and dinner - a great value and a very convenient morning and evening routine. Most people dress for dinner, but it is not required. The breakfast was excellent and the menu choices for the five-course dinner were varied and delicious. The hotel offers room service, but no room service menu so don't be surprised when the Maitre d'Hotel brings a restaurant menu to your room to take your order - the lobster and chicken club sandwich was divine! We enjoyed the luxurious pool and jacuzzi (with a lovely view to the outdoors), as well as the sauna, etc. On the down side we were expected to park the car ourselves as the porter could rarely be found. Parking was tight and we ended up in the lot across the street (the gate for which had to be opened by the porter, ironically.) Still, all in all, a very well-run and beautiful hotel with a welcoming, professional staff and very elegant public areas as well as rooms.
