The most relaxing thing while traveling is to know that you don't have to worry about a thing, it'll be taken care of politely and efficiently. That is perfectly true of the quietly perfect service you can expect to receive at the Saratz.
Pick you up at and deliver you back to the train station? Offer to serve you a free drink on the terrace while you wait for the desk staff to check in another guest? Provide you with a free pass for all regional transportation, including mountain lifts, during your stay? Give you a helmet and lock for the mountain bike you want to borrow from the hotel during your stay? Or one of the motor-assisted bikes? Or the BMW motorcycles? Oh yeah. And plenty more.
The three restaurants we tried at the Saratz were all excellent, with wonderful service and delightful wine lists. The breakfast buffet is a joy, even in a country known for lovely breakfast buffets. (This last visit was during the high season, but we know from previous stays that the restaurant choices and size of the breakfast buffet is reduced during the low season, but it's still good.)
Our room was spacious and comfortable, with good sheets and a nice bathroom. We requested a view room and I suggest you do the same.
The spa is free to guests and amazing: whirlpools, swimming pool and solarium with a view of the Rosegg Valley, sauna, steam room, chilled water tub, and hamman. Massages and other special treatments are extra and also worth it.
There is a much fancier hotel next door and loads of other nice hotels in the area, but my heart is with the comforts and guaranteed relaxation of the Saratz.
