Spotless room and a good price (103 SFR) on a Saturday night. Big breakfast. The receptionists were awfully nice people too. The only downside is that you near the occasional train go by. Not really much they can do about that, though.

We came after a loon booring traintrip from Münich and was only looking foroward to our rooms to dump the luggage, and then freshing up before we hit the town to grab something to eat. The Guy befind the desk showed us a map with some coozy restaurants and we went to La Grange whare we were served excellent pizzas and a good pudding for dessert,Some nice wine. Efter fullffilling dinner we took a short look on the town befor it was time to head back to the hotel finnish the last bits and peaces for our next day presentation. The fact that they have a buisness center in the lobby was really perfect. When we had finished we took a couple of beer in plastic glasses with us and went down to relax in thei heated pool that was open all evening and free of charge,.That was really what we needed after a long day on the train. There is even a Private Sauna with a fair price but only the water was warm enough 27°C.
The restaurang was buzy with a private compagny, but we could getsome drinks on the wonderful Glassveranda overlooking the passengers running to and from the trains.
In our roomd we had flatscreen TV with channels in serveral European languages. It was nice to catch up on the news!
The beds had really good matresses but the pillows a bit flat. (if you plie it it becomes thicker) The duvet was big, fluffy and kept the right temerature all night, I did't even get bothered of the trainsthat was passing-it was more of a lullaby. And in the morning the trains was interresting to watch while I waited for my collegue toget finnished in the bathroom. Breakfast was great with a fullarray of cereals and bread, juices and milk and eggs, the even had a toaster! Coffée was self-service so I could get exactly the mix I'm used to having. They even had both Sugar and Assugrin, wicch I persynally prefer.

I was told that the are a few skiresorts not to far away and I concider for my next trip to use the hotel as a base station (rates are cheaper on week.-ends) to get askiing edge before going home on the Sunday!

The staff were lovely and very welcoming and helpful. Rooms were clean, comfortable. No noise from the rail whatsoever. Breakfast was included in the price and good to get an energetic day started. The hotel is of good quality-price. I don't understand people complaining about how it can be better when they are paying a portion the price they would in another one: you get what you pay for, if you want a fancy hotel then book as appropriate but don't complain about cheaper hotels not being of Four seasons standards!!

Unfortunatly due to the jazz festival in Monteraux and the very expensive prices of other Vevey hotels at the time I stayed at the Famile hotel.

Again rooms where hot and noisy due to the location right next to the train stations, I can gurantee swiss trains run all night. Hotel is tired and also not very inviting. I will always avoid staying here if possible on any future stays.
