“Superb restaurant.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2009

This is a hotel for those wanting to enjoy the dining experience to the full without having to drive home afterwards. The restaruant's reputation speaks volumes and delivers all it promises.
Our stay was short - we were made to feel most welcome and the staff are very friendly. The room was a little disappointing being rather 'cosy' and right on the road - in August you need the window open so there was considerable traffic noise. The bathroom needs some attention - small and shower in bath which is difficult to manage in such a small space and also created wet floors.
If you go to dine - you will cope with, and happily tolerate these short comings, if you are just looking for acomodation (it would be a sad loss not to book a table!) you might prefer another hotel.
Excellent breakfasts.

“Amazing Service, Outstanding Food”

We stayed here for 4 days and were heartbroken to be leaving; the service in this hotel is impeccable, nothing is too much, and the attention paid to guests is unparallelled. We ate at the restaurant the first night, intending to try other places the other nights but we ended up staying in every night it was so good. The personal touches in this hotel make it stand out from everywhere I have stayed before. Highly recommended.

“excellence across the board”

Rarely one comes across a special place that offers the complete package in a place to stay: great service, comfort, and exceptional dining. The Walserhof's friendly and warm staff endeavored to make our stay special in every way. We had intended to spend a couple of nights in Klosters; but we ended-up staying 6 days. We felt treated like honored guests. The room was beautiful, highlighted by lovely wood carving and a modern, spacious bathroom. The cuisine was simply extraordinary, enhanced by wonderful local wines from Graubunden. If your travels should bring you to the Prattigau region, you must visit the Walserhof.

“Lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 May 2007

We stayed here in March for 3 nights after taking the Glacier Express
from Zermatt. It is a lovely inn with very nice amenities. Klosters is very different than Zermatt - much less touristy, more residential
- still an interesting experience. This was our first trip to Switzerland and we wanted to see a few different areas. We found enough to do for 3 nights, but if you're looking for lots of things to do after skiing - this might not be for you. We went to a fun fondue restaurant nearby. We also had a wonderful dinner in the hotel's (fine dining) restaurant. We were there the last week of March and the hotel/town seemed a bit empty. It is a somewhat long walk to the ski lifts, but they have an arrangement with a rental store near the station where you can store your skis/boots.

“Swiss bliss--refined alpine elegance--equisite cuisine--”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2006

As you wind your way up from Chur towards Klosters and Davos-- you might be in a car or on one of special Swiss red alpine trains. Klosters is embraced in a widening of alpine meadow-- great for skiing, summer hiking, or a brisk and burnished autumn refuge. Smaller than Davos--and both simpler and more refined in a way--there at the side of the road sits the lovely Walserhof. The front of the hotel gets the passing traffice for sure-- but at night it is deliciously quiet-- and the velvet sky is studded with stars that look like they escaped from the finest Geneva jeweler. The Walserhof style demonstrates the epitome of refined alpine elegance in a cosy traditional setting. The restaurant is one of the best in Switzerland-- quintessentially Swiss-- with all the refinements of Swiss French, German, and Italian influence-- but not forgetting the local cantonal Grison influence. The cellar is incredible-- One would be foolish NOT to have help with the wines-- since so many wonderful Swiss wines are not exported. The cheese cart is incredible-- (this is Switzerland after all!) The hosts always gracious, and welcoming-- Oh! Did I mention I've been there many times over a number of years-- the quality never falters, and the gracious service is never "canned." The true sophistication of this place is not pretentious or phoney. This is not a hotel with anything "cute-sie" or canned-- also not a hotel with all sorts of amenities like a pool. I would also say it's not particulary a great hotel for children--The setting is the amenity-- I haven't been there yet in the winter or spring-- only summer and fall-- But I intend to go! Yes-- royalty has stayed at the Walserhof. But, hey, my last name means king-- and I suspect they treat everyone like royalty at the Walserhof-- royalty on retreat in Swiss bliss.
