“First class small hotel and dining room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2011

We arrived in Klosters without reservations (after deciding to pass on busy, overbuilt, Davos). The first two hotels quoted us really high rates, the third was less expensive but didn't look very nice, so we splurged and stayed at the Walserhof, which was not as high as the first hotel, but still very expensive for someone paying in dollars. We ate in the very pretty restaurant, where the food was excellent (also expensive). We should have asked first how much the bottle of wine they recommended was! But really, the experience, from the amuse- bouche (including the best soup I have ever had) to the complimentary plate of chocolates was a real experience. Despite the fact that we came in without reservations, and a bit bedraggled from a long day of travel everyone treated us with charm and respect. The chef indulged my mother by posing for pictures with her. The rooms are decorated simply in an Alpine style, with great beds and linens. The breakfast included homemade croissants, cappuccinos, amazing omelets, fresh squeezed juice, plus the usual buffet.
This is a small, comfortable hotel with fantastic service. It has a cute little lobby for guests, an outdoor patio for lunch, and a lot of the rooms have balconies, but there are no grounds ---it is not one of the grand hotels you see in this area --which is fine with me. I think it would be even more romantic in the winter.

“Friendly & Welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2009

We did not reside at the Hotel, just a short visit where we enjoyed a glass of champagne. Beautiful hotel and the hospitality was excellent.

“Superb restaurant.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2009

This is a hotel for those wanting to enjoy the dining experience to the full without having to drive home afterwards. The restaruant's reputation speaks volumes and delivers all it promises.
Our stay was short - we were made to feel most welcome and the staff are very friendly. The room was a little disappointing being rather 'cosy' and right on the road - in August you need the window open so there was considerable traffic noise. The bathroom needs some attention - small and shower in bath which is difficult to manage in such a small space and also created wet floors.
If you go to dine - you will cope with, and happily tolerate these short comings, if you are just looking for acomodation (it would be a sad loss not to book a table!) you might prefer another hotel.
Excellent breakfasts.

“Amazing Service, Outstanding Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 March 2009

We stayed here for 4 days and were heartbroken to be leaving; the service in this hotel is impeccable, nothing is too much, and the attention paid to guests is unparallelled. We ate at the restaurant the first night, intending to try other places the other nights but we ended up staying in every night it was so good. The personal touches in this hotel make it stand out from everywhere I have stayed before. Highly recommended.

“excellence across the board”

Rarely one comes across a special place that offers the complete package in a place to stay: great service, comfort, and exceptional dining. The Walserhof's friendly and warm staff endeavored to make our stay special in every way. We had intended to spend a couple of nights in Klosters; but we ended-up staying 6 days. We felt treated like honored guests. The room was beautiful, highlighted by lovely wood carving and a modern, spacious bathroom. The cuisine was simply extraordinary, enhanced by wonderful local wines from Graubunden. If your travels should bring you to the Prattigau region, you must visit the Walserhof.
