The hotel was perfect. We required a 1 night stay prior to a family wedding. Upon arrival the hotel looked beautiful from the outside. I arrived first with my two small children to be followed by my husband later. My suitcase was very heavy and left this in reception for my husband to bring up. The next thing we knew the owner had carried it up 2 flights of stairs to my room. The room was lovely and clean with a very clean and modern bathroom. On the day of the wedding we needed to grab some lunch earlier than the normal lunch time service in the hotel - again, they accomodated for us and made a lovely spread of sandwiches for us all to enjoy. Finally, I took the wrong adaptor for pluging in electrical items, yet again the owners came to my rescue and lended me an adaptor and even let me keep it for the week ahead until my stay in switzerland was over. Beautiful hotel where nothing was ever to much trouble. We will definately be returning here in the future and thank Edith and Peter so much for an enjoyable stay.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived here. We were greeted by the chef/owner who was very helpful, friendly, and spoke English. The guest house was recently redone and was clean, attractive, and comfortable. Our meal in the dining room was excellent. There was no English menu but the waitress was very helpful. The guesthouse seems to be in the middle of nowhere but is close to several big Swiss cities making it a great place to stay when visiting these cities. We'd be most happy to return here anytime.

This family-run is centrally placed in the small town of Olten, just off the nearby major motorways. It is ideal for an en-route night-stop - easy access, plenty of parking - but possibly not ideal as a base for more than a day or two.

Everything is spotlessly clean and efficient. The two bedrooms rooms we used were really rather small (even by European standards) but very simple & modern: a double room of just adequate size (Room 106) but with just one bedside light - highly inconvenient if just one of you wants to read in bed! And a slightly larger twin room (114) which had a minute bathroom, with no space for the cat to enter, let alone be swung around.

No English-speaking channels at all on the flat-screen TV, which is surprising and a possible drawback for some. The rooms at the front are well soundproofed from the fairly busy town crossroads so long as the windows are shut, but this means no ventilation; oen, and things get noisy from about 6.30 a.m.

The hospitality was faultless - most staff speak English and are consistently pleasant and helpful. The restaurant and the bar/snack-bar area are both a bit pricey, especially the wine, but the food is plenty and is very well prepared.

On the face of it he overall value for money seems marginal - but then all hotels are costly in Switzerland; however, standards are high here, and you should not be disappointed with your stay.

Location - a very small village about an hour's drive (or more) from major Swiss attractions.
Rooms - clean and modern - SMALL by U.S. standards - be prepared for this - thin walls so you may hear those next to you . . . If you are passing through the area this is a major find . . . if you are looking for a 'hub' to explore Switzerland then be prepared to do a-lot of driving and/or train travel.
WiFi - Rooms have WiFi, and it is fine (good speed for modern lap tops). WARNING - rooms are on the upper floors and there is NO elevator/lift!!!
PARKING - No charge for parking and plenty of room to park!!! Don't park under the trees in the back - they have been cut back and will leak sap all over your car!
Room Cleaning - did not vacuum the room for my entire week-long stay - otherwise perfect. If you need the room vacuumed, you will need to ASK.
Food & Food Service - Breakfast is self-service, 'bar' with Musli, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, breads, hams and cheeses, with fresh-made coffee and juice. Lunch and dinner are excellent, five star - both food and service - chef can prepare just about anything you like.
Restaurant Service is CLOSED on Tuesday & Wednesday - you can get breakfast, but NO lunch or dinner - and do NOT be tempted to eat across the streets at EITHER of the other two restaurants - they are both terrible when compared to the food at Kreutz! You will have to find a decent restaurant on a side trip if you stay at LK on these days.
PERSONALIZED & FAMILY-OWNED - this is the BEST thing about this hotel. Peter Weber is a very pleasant and gentle soul, who will help you any way he can. He is also a great chef!
