We stayed at this hotel for one night in July 2011. We chose it based on TripAdvisor reviews. We were disappointed. We paid £250 for a double room, dinner and breakfast. The room was clean and adequate but with a narrow bathroom. The restaurant provided excellent if simple food - essentially steaks and schnitzels. The wine list was excellent but very expensive. We had a very good red for 44SF ... about the cheapest on the list. They then charged us 5.50SF for a half litre of water. The breakfast was limited in choices. Kappel is a sad little village. Some charming houses spoilt by planners allowing some awful high rise flats. All in all we felt ripped off especially compared to our experience in Germany (we love Die Krone in Staufen im Breisgau - lovely village, beautiful rooms, excellent restaurant - and considerably cheaper than Landgasthof Kreuz).
