We stayed at the hotel over Christmas and were greeted on arrival as if we were repeat clients. The family Schmid are so warm and welcoming and their staff is attentive and so pleasant.
The room we were given was light, airy, spacious, comfortable, clean and modern.
The bus to the ski lifts was efficient and when we were once stuck after the bus stopped, we phoned the hotel and they sent the driver out. That's service beyond the call of duty and truly appreciated.
The swimming pool, sauna and steam room were perfect after a hard day of skiing and the kids enjoyed it so much that they preferred spending the morning there instead of the slopes (a shock to my system!).
The only blight on what was otherwise a perfect stay (apart from the lack of good snow) related to the restaurant. Whilst we were vegetarians and the hotel made a real effort to accommodate us, we felt somewhat second class citizens. Despite being on half board, we ate out of the hotel some evenings.
We were also the only non-German speaking guests at the hotel, but that was perhhaps due to the time of year as it seemed that many of the guests had been going there at Christmas for years.
So, apart from the restaurant and dinner, a perfect place to stay and a perfect hotel if you choose Flims as your destination.

Schweitzer hof - pretty old style very spacious family run hotel situated in quiet location just small transfer away from main resort ( hotel has a transfer shuttle that runs every 30 mins, plus hotel is well served by local ski buses)

I have stayed at this hotel several times, and continue to go back as I really like it, especially due to the great personalized service!

Great location, close to town centre (you can walk to most of the places) but still very quiet, great view of the surrounding mountains.

Nice hotel, old fashioned with a feeling of the last century - very romantic.

Rooms are nice, but not all is to newest standard (no Ipod etc...) - but this is also the charme that makes the difference here. Great view of the mountains.

Service: this is so nice here, all staff is nice and friendly, and then there is the owner family who is always around and make sure that all guests feel good, they really care and that is great, they make the difference, they make me go back again and again!

Food is good, nice breakfast buffet, good dinner menu.

For me the best choice in Flims, yes it is a bit less luxurious than the Grand Hotel (spa is much smaller etc.) but has much more charme and then again has the personalized service and attention from the owner which you would miss in the other hotels - so for me the best choice here! And please bear in mind it has an official ratinf of 4-stars, and for a 4-star hotel it is definitely outstanding!

This is a beautiful turn of the century building which has been owned and managed by the same family from the start and has been maintained to a high standard. Location is good with some lovely views. The reception rooms are magnificent and bedrooms are of good size and standard. We had a superior room at the back, which meant that it had limited views but the advantage of a south facing balcony. The room was spacious with plenty of storage space, very comfortable beds, and the bathroom excellent.
Service is very good. All the staff are friendly (while maintaining a rather formal, country house hotel approach) and attentive.
We opted for the half board option (which works out better value than a la carte) which meant we had an excellent buffet breakfast with plenty of choice (including home made muesli and freshly prepared carrot and apple juice) and a five course dinner. Choice at dinner was limited (two choices for each course) but the hotel was always happy to offer alternatives if the menu didn't suit, and the quality of the cuisine was excellent.
On the leisure side, the hotel has a wonderful, large indoor pool which opens out onto the gardens. It also has gym, saunas, etc but we didn't try these.
And free access to an internet enabled pc in the library as well as free wifi (why can't all hotels provide this?)
Overall, this is a hotel at the top end of the four star range and thoroughly recommended for a relaxing, romantic or 'pampering' break.
Not cheap, but relatively good value given what you get and the fact that it is in Switzerland.
A lovely touch was that, on our departure after our five nights stay, the owner came out to thank us for staying with them and gave us a jar of local honey as a momento of our visit.
