Stayed in September and the hotel is very nice and as already mentioned the spa is lovely.
The hotel has a large bar area and a pianist in the evenings which adds some atmosphere.
Reception, bar and lounge area's are well serviced with attentive staff.
A fault of ours for certain was that we speak little German so were at the mercy of the Portuguese waiters to help us through the menu each evening. Seemed a little odd that more was not offered in English as apparently in the winter the hotel is filled 80% English. We did not go hungry though as the chief served good food.
Location is excellent.
Spa is amazing - albeit there are naked areas which can be a shock with the dim lighting in the hot area!!!!! You have been warned. Pool is a real swimming pool with hot spa outside. Nice gym and friendly staff.


Down side - We had a suite room which was nice but not as nice as we expected. As it was built into the roof ceilings slopped over the bed and the balcony was build up so a view could only be seen when standing - furniture outside was old chairs lacking a little "suite" appointing. Room furnishings were simply okay - seemed a little odd to have a table and 4 dining chairs when the hotel is not self catering. Had expected a little more from the suite to be honest especially as the bed was not comfortable.
A final gripe was in the restaurant the price of the wine.......approx £20+ for a house wine and then when you go down to the town even the most expensive named bottle is £10.00. The mark up of wine in hotels is to be expected but they really do add mark up here.

Stayed several times at the Adula. Always perfect and friendly service. Best is the brand new and large spa area (only for adults). Unfortunately no kids programms.
