In early January our family, 2 teenagers and my wife and I spend 10 days in Champery at the Hotel Beau Sejour. We had a the most wonderful time in Champery and especially in the Hotel. The service was wonderful, from suggestions on places to eat and visit to assisting us find an english speaking doctor when one of us got sick, to remembering the small details like our separate tea orders every morning without the need to ask. The new owner/managers, Sophie and Philippe bring fresh enthusiasm to the hotel. After a day of sight seeing or skiing something to look forward to is the afternoon tea with an excellent selection cakes. Champery is a picture perfect unspoiled Swiss mountain village. We thoroughly recommend Champery and the Art Boutique. Hotel Beau-Sejour.

We just stayed with our 3 children at the Hotel Beau Sejour for 4 nights. The hotel only offers B&B but has arrangements with 3 local retaurants for half board (evenings). We chose to go to the restaurants we fancied... The rooms we had were all pretty. Our shower room was new and tastefully decorated, the children's shower rooms (2 for 3 children, what a luxury!) were old BUT immaculate - you do get used to the green daisies on the tiles after a while! The whole hotel is decorated like a chalet (with remnants here and there of its less glorious past, but it's ok). Breakfast is good. Apparently, there is an amazing selection of cakes and pudding for tea in Winter, all baked by the owners. Apart from its chalet atmosphere, the main strength of the hotel is the fantastic knowledge and spot-on recommendations of the owners. No need to go to the Tourist Office , they are just as good (event better, we found). We had planned to go back in Winter only to find out most rooms were already booked and we coudn't be accomodated next to the children... We'll definitly try again!!

We spent a week at the Beau Sejour in late Feb. 2010, enjoying the skiing and ambience of the charming small town. Our package included the excellent buffet breakfast and wonderful afternoon tea, and a 6 day lift ticket. Helene and Robert Besseling are excellent hosts, friendly, helpful and attentive. They do not offer dinner, but have a prix fixe arrangement with 4 local restaurants, as well as offering suggestions for other dining choices. The room was not large but was so well equipped that we were very comfortable, with plenty of storage space for our things. They have renovated an old building to modern standards without losing the charm of a typical Swiss chalet hotel. The bathroom was brand new and well lit, heated towel bar, plenty of hot water, good towels. The lighting in the room was great - so we could read without the problems we often encounter in Europe. The TV has plenty of channels so we could follow the Olympics, and wonder of wonders, they have free WiFi throughout. We enjoyed the comfortable living room as well. This is my idea of a perfectly run small hotel.

We stayed in Hotel Beau Sejour in January this year and had 10 wonderful days skiing in the swiss alps. First of all, the skiing in Portes du Soleil is outstanding, with its 600 kms of pistes and lots of beautiful views and restaurants. Then, Portes du Soleil is very easy to access from Hotel Beau Sejour: You just have to walk about 400 meters, until you reach the cable car. Furthermore, the hotel offers you lockers at the hill station, so you never have to carry your stuff from or to the hotel. Although this wouldn't be a problem, since the hotel offers a storage room, and the ski bus stops directly in front of its door. So for skiing, I can't think of a better and more comfortable option.
With regard to the hotel, we were more than happy with our choice. It is very small and cosy, yet offers all the services you might expect. Rooms are so cute, and most of them have renovated bathrooms and balconies overlooking the mountains. Breakfast is of very high quality, although what we liked most were the cakes in the afternoon! Every afternoon Robert, the owner, serves an all you can eat buffet with homemade cakes, which are delicious! And this is included in your room rate, as the Wifi is, too! There is no dinner served, but the best restaurant in Champery is next door, about 20 meters to walk. The owners speak english, french, german and dutch and are incredibly helpful and friendly. Thanks a lot for wonderful holidays we even speak of today! Definitely we will be back next winter!
