I have stayed in this small hotel tucked away in the heart of the Savoyard Alpes several times and have never been disappointed. It was named after a huge cedar tree that guards its entrance in the town of Bex (known for its "salt mines") and is a good resting spot on the way to or returning from skiing. I had the pleasure of meeting Detlev Doll (the owner-manager ) and was told of his extensive experience in the hotel business. Room service is available and the gastronomic restaurant will please any amateur of good cuisine. On my last visit I was invited to try their homemade creme brulee and authentic viande de grison, a traditional specialty of the region. See you again soon, Det.
