This hotel has a wonderful park with swimming pool and spa. I was in a little building of a few rooms in the park, i was quite disappointed not to be in the castle. First it is quite weird cause you feel isolated from the main building. But room was recently refurbished, clean with a nice shower and perfect feather pillows. The little balcony with park view was really enjoyable. The only negative thing is that you can hear the neighbors... The service was perfect.

Secluded location but easy to find just off the Autoroute. Food was standard conference buffet fare but more than made up by the friendly service and beautiful surroundings of quiet park and woods, nice open air bar and outdoor heated pool. Pavilions well renovated in euro design comfortable and functional eg good ipod player provided. Stay in the castle if you want a more traditional setting. Pretty much does what it says on the box. Really wanted to stay longer. Clientele heavily the golfing community, both retirees and 40 somethings, but if you just want to chill with partner a good location. Some excellent restaurants eg Schloss Wartenstein with stunning views over the valley within 10 min drive.

Everything in Switzerland is expensive and this hotel is no exception. We paid CHF250 for one nights accommodation (2 adults, 1 child on a cot) and while the room was clean and simple, it was twice the price of the 3 and 4 star hotels we stayed at in nearby Italy, and it had half the appeal. It was rainy when we arrived and left so we did not get a chance to admire the gardens, or the pool, but i'm sure these extra amenities factor into the price. The front desk staff are to commended for being multi-lingual - I heard them speaking english, french, german and swiss-german (?) all in the span of 10 mins!

From the website this looked as if it was a charming, informal and low key hotel. We stayed in one of the pavillion rooms as opposed to the main castle which was a mistake. The pavillion rooms had a real travelodge feeling to them – very basic and no real charm or character. The main castle was lovely from the bit that we saw when checking in and out and the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was like a 1970’s time warp with a stifiling, quiet atmosphere in the restaurant and no real choice. Overall we were disappointed!!
