A wonderful hotel in Lindau, located at the waterfront, just a couple of meters away from the pier. Our room was enormous, we had a lake view which was spectacular. The rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable, modern equipment is nicely fitted into the old building – our room had a 17th century paining and woodcarving on the ceiling! Our room was very big, had a fireplace, 2 flat-screen TVs, a separate lounge area with 2 sofas. Bathroom is excellent, exceptionally clean, like the room itself. All the equipment is modern and in perfect condition. Bathroom has 2 sinks, a walk-in shower, bathroom supplies are excellent, including a free trial face care kit from a Swiss cosmetics manufacturer.
Our room was very light, we had about 6 windows. The curtains are great too, they do actually block the bright morning sun. The room was very quiet, I think partly due to the building layout – we had neighbours only from 1 side.

Breakfast was very good, it was included in the room price. There was everything from prosecco and fruit smoothies to good selection of cheeses, breads, etc.

The staff was very nice and efficient, everyone spoke English.

Our stay was great, I'd absolutely recommend the hotel. It's pricy but excellent.

Lindauer Hof is across the street from the marina in the beautiful tourist town of Lindau, which is situated on Lake Konstanz, with the Alps as a backdrop. We were there in late November and the Christmas market was outside our window on the street below. The hotel is in a lovely old building and has a very nice restaurant that serves lake-caught fish. Breakfast is included and is very good. Parking is additional, but is in a secure garage. Our room was quite large and had an awesome bathroom with rain shower and dual sinks. The staff was wonderful and everyone we met spoke English. Free internet in the lobby. Lindau escaped the scourge of WWII, so the buildings are very old and the architecture is beautiful. We were there off-season, but I bet things are hopping in the summer.

Lake Constance is one of my favorite places to visit, especially Meersburg and Lindau. On my last trip, the hotel where I usually stay was booked out for one of the nights of our stay, and I selected a junior suite at the Lindauer Hof. It was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is not small, but of modest size, quite attractive, and one of the few hotels situated on the lake promenade. The new renovations, treatments, and colors were impressive and turn this classic old lady into a modern German inn. Our room overlooked the lake, and our old-fashioned balcony was small and intimate. The restaurant, including complimentary breakfasts, was outstanding, featuring at least three fresh fish dishes from the nearby lake. I'll be returning here; it's a jewel on Lake Constance.

Having stayed in the surrounding area of Lindau in the past we booked 2 suites for ourselves and my parents in law. From the word "go", the staff were extremely friendly. The location can't be beaten, with the hotel facing directly onto the lake, however, we were quite disappointed with the hotel, feeling that it was more a 3* hotel than a 4*. It was more like a well decorated formule 1. Everything was OK. There was nothing to complain about, but there wasn't anything to remember it by either. The suite that my parents in law stayed in was quite nice with views directly onto the front. Our own suite was much larger, a bit too much empty space. It also had a very strange layout. The door to the terrace (which was all glass) was right next to the toilet! You had to go through the bathroom to get to the terrace. I couldn't fault our stay, but felt that the price was based on location rather than the hotel. It depends what you're after. We're used to staying in 3* hotels and we were disappointed having paid the extra for a suite etc that it wasn't any better than our usual hotels - just more expensive. Our parents in law are used to staying in 4* and 5* hotels and I think they felt like they had slummed it a bit!
