I was booked in here by the company I work for.
The room was clean but my entire party reported a smell of sewage when they first entered their respective rooms.
In the morning I started the water running in the bath. When I went back to check on it the water in the tub was very brown in color.
The television was miniscule, but - no worries - it didn't work anyway.

We were greeted warmly at the front desk and given the key to a very nice and spotlessly clean large room. We were given information on the meal options available, not just the next morning's breakfast but also room service, as well as for several non-hotel eating options (we decided on the bistro-restaurant next door, which had wonderful French food, albeit slow to arrive).

We were greeted again upon our return after the meal, and asked if all was well with our room and the restaurant. It was very quiet overnight.

At checkout the next day, we were again asked if there was anything that they could do for us (did we need additional meal recommendations, public transportation options, or driving directions?) and were also offered a map.

The small lobby (like the room, hall, and stairs that we saw) was immaculately clean, featuring old exposed wood beams and contemporary flower arrangements.

Although we didn't eat in the hotel's cafe, we looked in on it through the glass doors by the parking, and saw that it was full of brunch patrons.

I would be pleased to stay at the Old Pfarrhaus again, at the full rate (or enjoying a discount: we received approximately 25% off by booking in advance through the internet service HRS).

We seldom encountered such a contrast between Award -4Stars- and reality.
Upon arrival we were simply given the key to the room, no help offered with the luggage, not even a polite ´welcome´. The (tiny) room was only partially furnished, although the rack for the suitcase was delivered the next evening.
There is no 24h roomservice, the reception closes at 10:00 pm.
The showers are neither clean nor functioning properly. There were exactly
2 (two) kleenex in the bathroom. Whilst having breakfast, a dishwasher was run next to our table. We never were asked whether we would like a second cup of tea.
Whilst staying at the otherwise charming place - apart from the very noisy road facing the bedrooms- we actually were never asked anything, anyway.
Seems systematic, emails and faxes are not replied to.
The second time someone employed by the hotel spoke to us was when
checking out - even then they got the bill wrong - to their advantage and
gave me a really cheeky look when asked for correction. The questionable amount was more or less chucked on to the counter.
No value for money.
