We stayed at this lovely hotel for (2) nights in July. The reservations were made via Booking.com for a “Double Room Moselle View with Balcony”. One week before our arrival, I e-mailed the hotel directly and requested for the room to be on the top floor if possible. Very promptly, the hotel responded that they “ will take care of our request”.
We arrived about 11 AM and were prepared to wait until late afternoon to get into the room. Surprisingly, we were checked-in and were given a room key right a way. We were also invited to have dinner at the hotel restaurant that night, complements of the hotel. A very friendly lady at the reception desk offered us a choice of the main course and said that a table will be reserved for us, with flexible arrival time. Whoa!
The room was clean, reasonably sized, with modern bathroom and a large balcony. And the view!!! It was absolutely wonderful.

We loved the location of the hotel, enjoyed the restaurant, admired the friendliness of the staff and drank a lot of good Moselle wine on our lovely balcony.

We were afraid that without air conditioner it will be too hot to sleep at night and that it will be too noisy to have the windows open all night. However, both concerns disappeared very soon: the room had a small fan and the nights were cool and reasonably quiet.

Cochem and its surroundings are a wonderful place to vacation. We will be back and will more likely stay at this hotel again.

Late April Monday overnight, no booking. Check-in at 18.30 was straight-forward. Room on second floor with balcony overlooking Mozel River. In peak season location could be noisy because there was car park and roadway between hotel and river. Dinner in hotel was excellent. Flight of stairs from ground to first floor reception and dining room. Lift in hotel to higher floors. Room was large with en-suite bathroom and heavy curtains which blocked out external light.

I chose the Karl Mueller because of the distance from the train station (about 1/2 mile). It was a nice walk along the Moselpromenade to the hotel. The room was average size, very clean, and the beds were comfortable. I didn't pay extra for the Mosel view, so I got a view of an alleyway. But that's OK, because it was a very interesting alleyway. All one had to do was walk out the hotel door and there was the Mosel. The desk staff was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was nice, with a great view. I will definitely stay at this hotel again !!!

Room was clean, modern and centrally located. Breakfast excellent including scrambled eggs and bacon - a pleasant change from the soft boiled eggs and cold cuts at most other hotels. Rate was 100 Euros and worth it. Had about a dozen stairs to the front door but an elevator to the rooms. River about 50 yards in front of the hotel.
Several moderately priced, decent restrarants with outside tables in the area. Numerous shops. 2 Euro bus ride takes you to a castle about 1000 ft above the town and 4.7 Euros more gets you a German language tour of this restored eleventh century castle. Take a boat ride to the small, steep and quaint town of Beilstein from the boat dock right in front of the hotel.
