We travelled to Cochem by rail and the location of this hotel was just perfect. It was an easy 10 minute stroll from the station with packs on our backs and was really easy to find.
We had a Double Room Category C and were checked in immediately with very friendly service. We were given lots of information about Cochem upon check in and told were all the facilities were, including the breakfast room/restaurant. Our room price included breakfast but we can't report on it as we ate out and about during our stay.
The hotel facilities were very clean and tidy especially given the historical age of the hotel We were really surprised with the standard of our room - we were expecting it to be much worse after reading negative reviews here but we were very pleased. The room was really large and had a huge bed, as well as a spare single, large wardrobe, desk, mini friedge (unusual in guesthouses in Europe) and a good sized bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.
The bed was so very comfortable and we didn't have much trouble with noise - Our window opened onto Bruckenstrasse and I could hear a little of a nightclub on the first night but had no problems going to sleep with the window shut, and it was dead quiet on the second night.
We found this hotel extremely charming and perfectly located. We were without a car and loved being an easy stroll to the old town, across the bridge, to the chairlift, castle and to the train station - we hired bikes and caught the train to Bullay then rode along the gorgeous Moselle.
We would absolutely stay again.
