We stayed here on the first night of our trip in Mosel and Rhineland area. Although the rooms are quite small and plain, they are very clean and cosy (all the more so as 2 small teddy bears are left on your bed to welcome you : ). The main reason for us staying at this hotel was the reviews of its restaurant that we had read in a number of reputable German food guides. The menu was seasonal and the food truly excellent. Highly recommended.
The hotel is very centrally located just off the main square of the town. Its not possible to drive to the door but public paid parking is available nearby.

Home again after a 4 nights stay at the Hotel Lohspeicher in Cocem, Mosel. We were a group of 10 friends, who travel regularely to the Mosel valley for winetasting and recreation, and this hotel is by far the best we have ever stayed at.
The service is excellent, the owner and his wife doing great effort to make us feel welcome and have a good time, they succeded and this is why I write these words.
The rest of the staff very helpful to, helping with the luggage and carrying our bicycles up and down to the cellar every night to protect them from theft.
The restaurant is also excellent, we had dinner 2 evenings here and for me this is the best food I have eaten in Germany, all in the group were very satisfied.
Breakfast is also very good, oranges to make fresh juice, scrambled eggs and sausages,and a good choise of jam and other.
Rooms we had vere great with spacy rooms at the 2 floor, some smaller at the 3 floor but they were very cosy and big enough. There are 2 luxury rooms at the 1 floor, but they where occupied so I have not seen them.
Outside the hotel there is a nice garden with tables, and the location is perfekt with only a few steps down to the marketplace in town center.
If you have your window open you can hear people walking by and talking in the morning, and you may be woke up by the churchbells, but this is in a town so don`t expect it to be as quiet as in the countryside. You have no traffic noice as the closest road is by the marketplace.
It is possible to find cheaper hotels in the area, but we all agreed that the Hotel Lohspeicher is worth every penny, and this hotel is the perfect choise for us in Cochem, Mosel.

My wife, infant daughter and I just returned from 3 nights at this wonderful small hotel in Cochem. We were in Rm #10 on the first floor, and found it to be large with plenty of room. The bathroom was good sized as well and had a large shower. (Some of the rooms must have smaller showers based on other reveiws I read prior to booking.) Bed was large and comforable. And, we were greeted with chocolates and complementary bottle of water. Lots of personal attention, from the moment we arrived until we departed. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The owners, Ingo Beth and his wife, were a constant presence, were very friendly, and took great pride in their hotel.

The hotel could a bit hard to find, as most hotels are that are located in a pediestrian zone. We parked outside the zone and walked in, and found the hotel pretty quickly. Yes, parking could be a bit tricky to find as well, but with the map they provided I found the covered and locked parking lot pretty easily. A very short walk from the hotel. When we departed, the staff was eager to assit and carried our bags to the car. I could see how in the summer months the rooms could get hot. If I traveled there during those months I would probably bring my own fan as we traveled there by car.

The breakfast buffet was excellent. Bread... amazing! We did eat the hotels restaurant one evening. It is definitely a more expensive meal, but I would say with full confidence that the meal we had that night was easily one of the top 2 or 3 meals we've had the four years we've lived here in Europe. Simply fantastic. Would highly encourage visitors to Cochem to plan at least one meal with Ingo Beth.

I could go on and on about our stay at this hotel, but will leave this review by saying we would most definitely stay here again. We will also recommend this hotel to all of our friends.

Hotel offered free wireless internet. Parking was in a locked and secure covered lot, at 8 euros per night.

We spent two nights at this hotel and loved every moment. The location is ideal ... just off the central market square and down from the cathedral. Our room had a view of the castle. The staff was very friendly and all spoke English. The best part of all was having half-board which provided both breakfast and a gourmet dinner. Both nights the dinner was five star!
