my husband and i stayed at this hotel during our stay in the rhine valley. the location was not an issue for us as we had a car and it was a short drive into st. goar for dinner in the evening or sightseeing during the day. the restaurant was quite good - we ate one meal here during our stay. our room was downstairs and there was a musty/sewer smell so if you book here request a room on the upper floor. it was raining during our entire stay so perhaps the smell was due to all the humidity. our room had a lovely view onto the rhine which was a bonus. parking was great - free, and plenty of it.

We returned for the second time and liked it very much again. The first time we received a free room upgrade because it was our wedding anniversary. I recommend the Spätlesezimmer which is very comfortable and from where you have a nice view over the romantic scenery. The hotel is a bit far away from St. Goar, but you will not want to go anywhere else for dinner. The restaurant is fantastic, and you should take a bottle of their excellent wine to your room and enjoy the flair.

Our room was very accessable for my wife in a wheelchair. Although there is no lift, going outside to the entrace to the restaurant was quite convenient (a ramp is provided). The food was very good and service the same. We were driving and looked for a hotel out of town on the Rhine River. The view of the Rhine (25 ft away) was great for watching the river boats passing in front of the Maus Castle just upstream of the Loreley. The staff was very understanding of my wife's special needs and treated us like family. THANK YOU STAFF, you did yourself proud. We hope to come back to the Flairhotel Landsknecht. In a wheelchair? I recommend this hotel very highly.

The Hotel is located on the left bank of the River Rhine, with a gorgeous view on the fabulous Rhine valley, just in front of the Loreley rock. It is quite far from the centre of the town, and this could be a problem for those who don't travel by car (but it was not my case).
The rooms are very clean, quiet and endowed with all comforts. The breakfast is rich and good and the staff is kind. I was there for listening to the Manowar concert at the Loreley auditorium, but it was also a good chance for to see a very beautiful and charming landscape. Not but not least: the ferry connection with the other side of the river are good and punctual.
