Owned and run by a family from Oregon in the US, the hotel has large rooms for the price, nice views out over the river and esplanade and the back rooms look over a pleasant interior garden courtyard. We stayed on the top floor and the room was quiet, clean and the beds comfortable, though once agian the little square European pillows are next to useless on their own, but this seems to be everywhere in Germany in this class of hotel.
The owner and his family are friendly without being unctious and have lots of good information available in the lobby about places to see and eat in the town. Small town, not much to see though the small laneways have some intersting old architecture still standing, and the nick nack tourist crapola shop in the central square sells some very interesting S& M garden gnomes and another with a knife in it's back, which is not the usual thing....We had an outstanding meal sitting outside a small pub in one of the side streets back from the river that night and slept well.
The breakfast room is charming and the food adequate. The fresh oranges were a real treat.
