We went here for a short golf break. The hotel is located amidst forests and meadows, very quiet and beautiful surroundings. The hotel's staff is incredibly friendly and thoroughly professional; we immediately felt at home; almost as if we were old friends. We had a nice, cosy room with lots of closet space and a good bed. It had a large balcony, overlooking the garden and forests. The bathroom contained all we needed, with a separate toilet. Breakfast buffet was plenty and yummy and replenished all the time. We had chosen half board, so we had dinner at the hotel too. Excellent food and wines and at a very reasonable price. Serving staff in the restaurant are very professional and their smiles and good moods are genuine. We played golf at the Schmallenberg golf course: beautiful views and oh so quiet. After dinner we would go sightseeing: lovely quiet villages, dark forests with deer, wild boars, foxes, hares, all sorts of birds and no people around. All in all, absolutely recommended. We intend to go back!

We wanted to ski a long weekend in Sauerland
When we arrived in the village we were afraid only a few centimeter, more green then white
The hotel however is not situated in the village. No you enter after a few kilometer from the village a small mountain pass.And the white great snow was coming.
The hotel is situated in a very idyllic place, with a great view on the forests. Tyhe hotel is not a small hotel but has a few wings
It si built solid and in a classic German style. Perhaps oldfashioned. But it did not bother us The rooms had good quality were not smaal and had ( necessary after skiing) a bath.
Intersteing was that they could not prepare the loipen because of the snowfall but the second day we could ski . I had the impression that the hotel made the loipe special for us by the way!We did not meet skiers or other people that friday It was silent an beautifull
In the evening we used the sauna and swimmingpool of the hotel
Allaws it should be warm and clean.
In the evenong we wantyed to take the half board we booked. However we did not like the restaurant . It was too large . So we changed our booking and ate a la carte. The other restaurant ( jagdstube) was more informal near the fire and the quality of food was perfect. Great wines also for a reasonable price. We tried the German wines .The only small comment is that the extra you had to pay for the daily menu or the buffet ( on friday/saturday) was a bit too much coampared to half board (especially the buffet )
But all other things in this hotel were great. the service the location ( 2 minutes from sking) the food and the room

We went to Jagdhaus Wiese after a terrible experience with an other hotel. Staff at reception was very nice and we were shown 3 rooms to choose from. We took a double room with bath and balcony.

The rooms are of good size, clean and have a small couch in it. The bathroom is spacious and of good quality. The beds are good.

The room looks a bit old fashioned, but this is the style of most German hotels. More important that everything is clean.

The hotel has very good facilities: an indoor swimmingpool with a very nice view on the woods, massage facilities, sauna, free use of mountainbikes and hikingmaps. There are 2 restaurants and in one of them you can eat smokefree. The quality of food is excellent! Breakfast, lunch and diner where just fine! We choose diner from the a la cartemenu. The restaurant has very nice wines as well. Staff is very nice and attentive.

The hotel is a bit far away from any town and has rather a lot of older guests, but this is in no way a problem for a nice stay here. We really likes this hotel an can reccommend it for sure.
